This was a wonderful property in Ogunquit. As a first time vistior, we were loved the location, convenience to downtown food and shops as well as the hospitality of the new property owner who obviously cares. The fire pit was an added bonus.

We weren¿t able to stay for the breakfast but it was laid out beautifully. When we arrived, they were baking the muffins in the beautiful, welcoming kitchen right there in the reception area. The beds were very comfortable.
It was close proximity to all amenities, it wasn¿t in the middle of a lot of traffic. They had fresh breakfast in the morning and have grills and fixings for anyone who wanted to utilize the grill.

Top Tips
- Book at least 2-3 months in advance for summer visits (June-September), as occupancy exceeds 85% during peak weeks. Early reservations help secure ocean-view rooms or suites and may yield up to 20% better rates compared to last-minute bookings. Confirm any flexible booking options or loyalty benefits at time of reservation.
- Choose hotels within 0.5 miles (under 10 minutes walk) of Ogunquit Beach, the Marginal Way, or directly on the Ogunquit Trolley route to reduce transportation costs and avoid parking; daily trolley fare averages $2-5 per adult. Many major brands provide area maps and may offer complimentary trolley passes.
- Verify on-site parking availability before arrival, as many properties offer limited spaces, with daily fees ranging $15-45 during June-September. Public parking lots fill by 10 am most weekends. Use valet or pre-paid parking if available, especially at larger chain hotels.
- Compare room categories and cancellation policies directly: national brands often have free cancellation until 24 hours before arrival, while boutique inns typically require 1-2 nights' deposit and may be non-refundable. Review the property's specific cancellation timeline and save a record of your confirmation.
- Total nightly rates include Maine’s 9% lodging tax, plus municipal or resort fees ($15-35/night). Request a full cost breakdown when booking to avoid unanticipated charges at check-in and save a copy of your rate detail for reference.
- Standard check-in starts at 3 pm; request early check-in or late check-out in advance. Ask about secure luggage storage if arriving before your room is ready. Notify your hotel if arriving after 8 pm to receive after-hours access instructions. Some chains offer guaranteed late check-out or digital key access for loyalty members.
- Consider a late spring (May–early June) or early fall (mid-September–October) stay for 10–25% lower nightly rates and lighter crowds, with 80% of area attractions open outside July-August. Verify restaurant and venue hours if visiting after mid-October.
- Confirm that your hotel has reliable Wi-Fi and a quiet workspace, such as a business center or library nook. Request accessible or step-free rooms if needed, as most historic inns do not have elevators or ADA-compliant access, and request features like roll-in showers or visual alarms at time of booking.
- Tip $2-5 per bag for bell staff, $2-5 per night for housekeeping, and 15-20% at most independent restaurants; these are standard U.S. guidelines. Gratuity is often not included on room bills, and cash is preferred for service staff. Maintain quiet during official hours (10 pm-7 am), especially in smaller inns.
- Front desk staff can assist with local reservations, last-minute Ogunquit Playhouse tickets (shows May-October), or guidance on peak visitor times for Marginal Way and the Ogunquit Museum of American Art (April-October). Ask about digital brochures or local discount cards, which are often available at chain hotels.
- If bringing a pet, confirm the hotel’s full pet policy and associated cleaning fees—averaging $15-35 per night. Ogunquit Beach allows leashed dogs only October 1–March 31, with seasonal restrictions in summer; confirm current regulations, and bring proof of vaccinations if requested.
- Prepare for sudden weather changes by packing layers; summer fog and wind are common, and nor’easters can affect spring or autumn visits. Select hotels with indoor pools or lounge areas as a backup for rainy days, and check the local forecast 1-2 days before arrival.
- Explore local seafood such as lobster rolls or clambakes—many hotel concierges can book tables at restaurants within 0.5 miles. Ask about Ogunquit’s art galleries and live jazz at Main Street venues during high season. Larger hotels may host seafood nights or partner with local chefs for tasting menus.
- Families should reserve cribs or rollaway beds when booking, as supplies are limited; confirm adjoining rooms if needed. Solo travelers may prefer accommodations within 0.2 miles of Main Street for safer evening access to restaurants and shops. Large hotels can provide security escorts or well-lit walkways for added peace of mind.
