Location close to Acadia. Waterfront! Totally remodeled!
The hotel was oversold and they “walked”/moved me to the West Street Hotel right in the heart of the village on the water. Much better location, boutique style, didn’t need to use my car at all.
The hotel ?upgraded? us to a ?suite? in the stone house (which was beautiful).

amazing staff, very clean, great selection of breakfast items, and nice touches like fresh flowers in the hallway windows. Spacious rooms beautifully decorated, Adirondack chairs and yard games in the back yard, walking trail that leads to Acadia
The room was fabulous, and the condition of the hotel is excellent. My favorite thing about the Acadia Inn is the communication. If it had not been for the email and subsequent advisories we would not have known about the Cadillac Mountain res. system.
Very close to Bar Harbor. Free parking.

Room was spacious. Mattresses were comfortable. Free breakfast was better than the usual continental breakfast some hotels offer. Location was great. Covered parking was a plus.

Not much great to say about this hotel. The room was not ready when we arrived. The hotel needs alot of repairs to the the exterior hallways and stairs. The condition of the overall property is very deceiving from the pictures posted online.

Proximity to town and to Acadia.
It's more of a "home" atmosphere instead of your usual sterile hotel chain
Views from balconies. Size and furnishings of room. Double-sink bathroom. Room refresh every day.

The entire stay was great, and left us wishing we could¿ve spent more nights. We will definitely come back to Bar Harbor, and will absolutely stay here again! The room was clean, well appointed, and very comfortable. Pet friendly was a huge plus!

The location of this hotel couldn't be beat! An easy walk to downtown and a super quick drive to Acadia National Park had everything we wanted at our fingertips. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere of the hotel was warm and inviting.
This hotel is a great option for Bar Harbor. The staff was great, it was spotlessly clean, parking was convenient, very walkable to many places. The bed in my room did need to be replaced soon but it was reasonable. The light continental breakfast ok.

Really nice place to stay esp the water front rooms! Only complaint I had was the vending machines and ice makers were not in use. But in their defense they did offer to get ice for us which was nice. Beautiful town wish more was open on off season
Location, location, location... Friendly staff as well and good breakfeast
The location is great. Walking distance to the heart of Bar Harbor (shops, restaurants, bars). Wonderful views of the harbor itself.

Staff are welcoming, rooms are clean, and the scenery is beautiful. The hotel is right off the interstate and yet it is quiet. I stay here every time we come up to see family. They offer coffee 24hrs in the lobby even though your room has coffee pot.
Quiet, clean

It was what I expected
The indoor pool and hot tub
The staff was wonderful and super accommodating but they could not make up for the utterly deplorable conditions: mold in the tubs, one of the sinks didn't drain, the carpets were crusty and there was a nasty smell in the first room we were assigned.

Cleanliness and the staff was very people oriented, kind, courteous.
Nothing, very disappointed; would like a partial refund
The room was huge!

Very accommodating. My husband had heart surgery and the staff helped make sure we had a first floor room, so no stairs or elevator
Staff was very polite.

haven't been there in a couple of years and found they finally added refrigerator
Room was very nice and sparkling Clean. Parking was very easy.
It's very clean, and extremely quiet, which a lot of hotels are not. For it to be a casino where the rooms are it is very peaceful, and you can never hear people in the hallways. I also enjoyed playing slots in the casino while I was there.

Top Tips
- Reserve hotel rooms 60-90 days in advance for July-August weekends, and 3-4 months ahead for late September or early October foliage weekends. Booking early helps secure a spot and avoid last-minute rates, especially during Bar Harbor's high season. Consider joining hotel loyalty programs for priority booking or possible discounts, and always verify the cancellation policy before finalizing.
- Ride the free Island Explorer shuttle from mid-June through late October to reach Acadia trailheads and downtown Bar Harbor hotels, and avoid limited parking between 9:00 and 15:00 during peak hours. Request shuttle maps or real-time updates from your hotel front desk, and ask about accessibility features if you have mobility needs.
- Expect on-site hotel parking to cost $20-35 per night; downtown municipal lots have seasonal time limits and metered blocks. Ask if valet service or electric vehicle charging is available, and contact your hotel for latest parking availability and fees.
- Do not depend on Uber or Lyft for Mount Desert Island trips, as rideshare service is inconsistent. Book airport transfers or local taxis in advance, ideally through your hotel, and confirm with your hotel if you need accessible vehicle options or early or late transfers.
- Historic inns and many Bar Harbor B&Bs are multi-story and may lack elevators. Request a ground-floor room and confirm step-free access, roll-in showers, or grab bars during booking. Inquire about accessible parking or service animal policies if needed, and let the hotel know your specific mobility requirements for tailored assistance.
- Pack layers for summer stays; typical highs are 60-75°F (15-24°C), and nights cool to 45-55°F (7-13°C). Bring a windproof jacket and insect repellent containing DEET or picaridin for outdoor activities. Ask your hotel if they offer gear rentals, like umbrellas or jackets, or have space to store outdoor equipment.
- Arrive at Acadia National Park before 8:30-9:00 or use the Island Explorer shuttle to avoid full lots, as Park Loop Road parking often fills by mid-morning in summer. Check with your hotel concierge for current park conditions or up-to-date shuttle schedules before heading out.
- Check the hotel’s policy page to see the full nightly cost before booking, as resort and service fees and taxes are frequently added after the advertised price. Ask if amenities like breakfast or Wi-Fi are included to avoid unexpected charges.
- Review Wi-Fi reliability if remote work is important. Downtown hotels usually have strong connections, while smaller B&Bs can be inconsistent. Request a recent speed test or business-class room if high-speed internet is essential, and ask about business centers or in-room workspace options. If in-room Wi-Fi is weak, check if the lobby signal is stronger.
