Location & complimentary breakfast
Very Good. There was an outside issue with the water supply so no pressure or heat in the shower but the front desk was right on top of it and it was fixed.

Nothing. Roaches, dirty carpet, sheet sheets and towels were extremely worn. Everything is horrible.
This is the best hotel I have been to. I will use this hotel in the future and will also spread the word to friends and family. On a 5 star scale I give this hotel a 5 out of 5. Excellent!
The only good thing I found about the hotel is there was a bus stop right in front of it.

Top Tips
- Book at least 3-6 months in advance for Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival (May) dates, as room rates can rise 20%-40% during the event. Check chain hotel sites for price-match or loyalty program options to get the lowest rates.
- Consider chain hotels in Lafayette, about a 15-25 minute drive away, for amenities like 24/7 fitness centers, business hubs, loyalty points, and consistently fast Wi-Fi (typically 50+ Mbps for streaming and remote work). Confirm whether shuttle services are available if you prefer not to drive.
- Renting a car ensures independent travel, as rideshare options such as Uber and Lyft are limited, especially after 23:00 or on festival weekends. Confirm your hotel offers free parking, which is common at national brands.
- Request rooms away from Main Street or Bayou Teche for a quieter experience, because live music and street festivities are frequent on weekends and during the festival season. Many chain hotels offer sound-insulated rooms; confirm availability if you are sensitive to noise.
- Parking is often limited at historic inns and smaller B&Bs. Major hotel chains usually provide complimentary on-site parking, but always confirm if fees apply, especially during high-demand events.
- If you need reliable remote work, request measured Wi-Fi upload and download speeds before booking. Brand hotels are more likely to guarantee business-grade connections, guest workstations, and printing services.
- Bring $15 to $60 in small bills for local vendors and festival stands, since many accept only cash. Chain hotels in the area usually have ATMs on-site or nearby for easy withdrawals.
- Request accessible or step-free rooms in advance if you need elevator or ramp access, as many historic inns have stairs only. National brands generally follow ADA standards, so verify your specific needs with the hotel before arrival.
- Purchase trip insurance or choose fully refundable rates for stays during hurricane season (June-November), as the highest risk is August-October. Major hotel chains post storm or refund policies clearly, so review these before booking.
- Expect 14.45% in local taxes and fees on hotel stays, adding $15 to $40 to each $100 in nightly rates. Chains often display total pricing at checkout, so double-check your final booking confirmation.
- Tip hotel staff 15%-20% for strong service, as this is standard in Louisiana. National brands may include gratuity guidance in guest directories.
- Older Cajun cottages may not maintain 72°F (22°C) easily during summer (June-September). Chain hotels typically feature updated, energy-efficient air conditioning units; ask about recent renovations if temperature comfort is important.
- Potable water is standard, but older B&Bs or rural lodgings may use well water. Major hotel chains provide filtered water stations or bottled options, so confirm if this matters for your stay.
