The hotel must have been completely renovated at some point: everything seems newer and in good condition. Room was clean, comfortable, had a great bed, non-carpeted floors, and effective blackout curtains. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

Location and the staff was great. We were in town to attend a Indiana Fever game right across the street from the Hotel. The staff held our luggage until after the game in a locked room which made it so convenient to pick the luggage up after the game.
Location. The hotel is right across from the Pacers arena. They have a nice basketball across the street that kids can play on for free! My 13 year old loved it!

Top Tips
- Book your Greenwood hotel 2-3 months in advance for major Indianapolis events like the Indy 500 in May or State Fair in August. This lead time can secure rates 20-30% lower than peak prices and help you avoid overbooking when demand overflows from Indianapolis.
- Factor in total taxes of 12-15% when comparing Greenwood hotel rates. The city adds a 7% state hotel tax plus 5-8% in local surcharges. Use platforms offering tax-inclusive quotes to avoid underestimating costs by $15 to $20 per night.
- Choose hotels within 1-2 miles of Greenwood Park Mall for safer access to dining and shopping. This area reports a 20% lower crime rate than the national average (FBI data) and offers more value for families through nearby amenities.
- Check Wi-Fi speeds if you plan to work remotely. Most Greenwood chains, such as Hampton Inn, provide 50-100 Mbps Wi-Fi, exceeding rural Indiana averages. Test the connection on arrival, as power outages occur 5-10% more often during summer storms.
- Extended-stay hotels in Greenwood offer extra space, kitchenettes, and reliable 50-75 Mbps Wi-Fi, which is beneficial for remote work or longer stays. Rates are typically 10-20% higher than standard rooms.
- Request a room on a higher floor or facing away from the highway at hotels near I-65 or US-31 to minimize road noise and diesel truck vibration, especially during peak hours (7-9 AM and 4-6 PM). Confirm this preference at check-in for the best options.
- Expect Greenwood to be car-dependent, with most errands and restaurants requiring a 5-15 minute drive. Book a rental car or check rideshare availability for late-night returns.
- Many mid-range Greenwood hotels include a free continental breakfast, which can save you $15 per person each day. Confirm inclusions before booking as breakfast offerings and hours vary.
- If you require sustained videoconferencing, ask about the hotel's advertised Wi-Fi Mbps and request a quiet room when booking. Actual speeds and noise levels can vary by location, even when business centers and complimentary Wi-Fi are listed.
- Review your final hotel rate for municipal or innkeeper taxes and potential resort or parking fees, which are often added at checkout. Check the 'total price' before booking to accurately compare Greenwood hotel options.
