Not pet friendly at this time but when we got there I told them I had called and the motel I called said they were pet friendly, we figure I got another Key West Inn but in any case they let us stay. Great people and were really understanding.

Kings Inn is nicely positioned for a long south-north trip from Florida to Indianapolis, with a stop in Bloomington. Be warned though that to reach it from I-75 requires a 30 minute drive through rural, hilly roads.

Top Tips
- Book your Dalton hotel at least 2 weeks in advance to save 10-20% ($80-$120 per night), as demand from the carpet industry often fills rooms quickly.
- Choose hotels with free parking, such as the Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn, to avoid typical downtown parking fees of $15-$20 per day due to limited options.
- Plan your visit outside of the carpet industry's peak seasons (January-May and September-November) to avoid 25-40% higher rates ($150-$250 per night).
- Consider hotels with indoor pools, like the Courtyard by Marriott, for a comfortable stay during Dalton's hot and humid summers (July average highs are around 89-91°F).
- Factor in Dalton's 14% hotel tax, which may not be included in the initial booking price, to accurately budget your total stay cost.
- Prioritize confirmed working A/C in summer; verify A/C reliability through recent guest reviews or by confirming “AC serviced” before arrival, especially with July average highs around 89-91°F.
- Confirm vehicle and parking specifications for trucks, vans, or RVs by calling the property directly, as advertised free parking may not accommodate large vehicles or have clearance issues.
- Ask about downtown parking and hotel check-in hours if attending local events, as these can concentrate downtown parking and impact access.
- For quieter stays, request a room facing away from I-75 when booking, as most chain hotels within 0.5-1 mile of exits can have noticeable highway noise.
- If you plan to visit Downtown Dalton's historic and restaurant cluster (1.5-2 miles from the primary hotel corridor), allocate 5-10 minutes for driving or use a rideshare, as walking is not ideal.
- Note the location of Hamilton Medical Center, the primary acute care hospital in Dalton, for quicker emergency routing from your hotel.
