It was the worst place I've ever been to in my life. When we entered, were dirty and torn, the bed was awful, and the bottom of the bed had a sharp, protruding metal part that could cut your feet. I had to clean the bathroom myself

Hotel employee was amazing. He was very pleasant & friendly when I checked in. He answered all my questions. Great asset to your property.
First room smelled like smoke. Second room had a hole in the bathroom door.
The hotel was okay. What was disappointing was the price I initially booked and I thought was locked into was a different rate when I went to check in. I asked for the manager to contact me on three separate occasions and I have yet to receive a call.

Top Tips
- Hotels in Florida City are typically 10-15 minutes closer to the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center than those in central Homestead, saving travel time for Everglades National Park visitors. Compare estimated driving times before booking to optimize park access.
- Travel between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Homestead usually takes 35-50 minutes during off-peak hours for the 30-40 mile drive. Plan for delays during rush hour and check live traffic apps before arrival to minimize stress.
- During Homestead-Miami Speedway race weekends, hotel rates can increase and rooms may be sold out 30-90 days in advance. Reserve as soon as event dates are confirmed to avoid missing out or paying surge pricing.
- Florida’s hurricane season is June to November, with highest risk from August to October. When booking, choose hotels with on-site generators, emergency protocols, and flexible cancellation policies for named storms to reduce disruption and increase safety.
- Public transit in Homestead is limited and rideshare waits can exceed 20 minutes outside peak times. Renting a car is recommended for reliable access to hotels, major sites, and shopping.
- Chain hotels along US-1 and near SW 328th Street often offer interior corridors, free on-site parking, and consistent amenities. Ask about accessible rooms or ramp access if you require increased mobility support.
- Military personnel may qualify for cost-effective lodging at Homestead Air Reserve Base, often at lower rates than off-base hotels. Confirm eligibility and availability with the base before booking.
- Special events like Speedway races or Everglades programs can trigger daily parking surcharges of $15 to $30 at area hotels. Confirm parking and event-day fees directly with your hotel to avoid unplanned expenses at check-in.
