Top Tips
- Book Woodland hotels 21-30 days in advance to save 12-18% compared to last-minute rates. Demand is generally steady, so early booking maximizes value.
- Select properties within 0.8 km (0.5 miles) of I-5 exit 507 (Main Street) to reduce arrival times by 15-18 minutes, especially during weekday mornings. This location offers rapid access to major routes.
- For remote work, ask about Wi-Fi speed on arrival. Business-class hotels typically provide 35-50 Mbps, while budget motels average 10-18 Mbps.
- To limit nighttime noise by 10-15 dB, request a room away from refrigerated warehouse zones, mainly on the west side of Main Street.
- Avoid $3.50-$5 non-customer ATM fees by using Yolo Federal Credit Union (757 Cottonwood St) instead of national banks.
- All Woodland lodging bookings incur a mandatory 10% Yolo County occupancy tax, separate from state sales tax. Check your reservation breakdown for full charges.
- Choose hotels rated 3 stars or higher to ensure step-free main entrances and accessible rooms; only 40% of 2-star hotels offer ADA-compliant access.
- International travelers: decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and pay in USD to avoid a 3-5% surcharge at check-in.
- Carry a personal water bottle between June and September when average highs reach 34°C (93°F). Public hydration stations are limited, and most rooms lack refillable carafes.
- Loyalty points typically accrue only within the specific brand; multi-brand point stacking is not available across Woodland properties.
- If you require allergen-safe items at breakfast, confirm availability on arrival; only Holiday Inn Express consistently labels common allergens.
- Expect 8-10 minute check-in delays around UC Davis move-in weekends (late August to early September). To save time, arrive after 7 PM or use app-based pre-check-in if offered.
