The location is perfect for doing any park or downtown activity. I did not use my vehicle at all the entire stay. Walked to downtown, toured the park area, hiked and biked up the trails and roads. It was a great experience.
It was quite and right down from where we wanted to go!!
Location - Hot Springs National Park was just across the street. The Arlington Hotel (site of a film festival I was attending) was about 5 minutes away and bathhouse row was just beyond that. The room had everything we needed and was clean and well kept.

Top Tips
- Fly into Little Rock (LIT) for Hot Springs stays. The airport is 55 miles (88.5 km) from Hot Springs, requiring about a one-hour ground transfer. No direct shuttle serves Hot Springs, so plan for rental car or rideshare costs—current rates average $85-120 roundtrip. Confirm rental agency operating hours if you arrive after 22:00.
- Book 3-6 weeks ahead for stays during Oaklawn Racing season weekends (January-April), as rooms often sell out and prices typically rise 20-40% over weekday rates. Weekday nights generally offer savings of 20% or more. Set alerts to compare prices if your dates are flexible.
- Choose hotels on Central Avenue or downtown for a 2-10 minute walk (0.1-0.5 mi/0.16-0.8 km) to Bathhouse Row, Quapaw Baths, and Buckstaff Bathhouse. These locations provide quick access to restaurants and shops, which is ideal if you want a pedestrian-friendly stay.
- Public bath and spa sessions at Quapaw and Buckstaff fill quickly, especially on weekends and mornings. Reserve thermal-bath or spa times online or by phone several days in advance to secure preferred slots. Confirm cancellation policies if your travel plans may change.
- July heat reaches 90-92°F (32-33°C) with high humidity in Hot Springs. Confirm your hotel's air conditioning is working and check for sealable windows for added comfort during summer stays. Ask the front desk for extra water, as hydration is crucial in these conditions.
- For remote work, select chain hotels or those advertising 'business-class' Wi-Fi, and request measured Mbps speeds (15+ Mbps recommended for video calls). Some historic hotels downtown may have slower, shared Wi-Fi; check recent guest reviews or call the front desk before booking.
- Many historic hotels near Bathhouse Row have limited step-free access and elevators. If you require an accessible room, elevator, or ramp, specify your needs in writing or by phone and confirm your room assignment before arrival. Request visual alarms or roll-in showers if needed.
- Staying onsite at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort avoids post-race traffic delays, as weekend returns from the track to downtown can take 10-30 minutes or more. Onsite guests have immediate access to casino, dining, and spa amenities. Book racetrack-view rooms early, as they are limited during racing season.
