This 3-star hotel is located in the town of Merzig, 656 feet from the Saar River. Hotel Roemer offers free Wi-Fi and a restaurant serving Saarland cuisine and fine wines. - Large smart TV - best of trip. Carpeted floor. 2 seats and small slide-out bench. Corner room with good ventilation. Road was busy during the day but quiet at night. Lockable bicycle garage across the road. Small bathroom with good hot water. Good breakfast buffet, available from 7am even on Sunday. We had a bottle of wine with us that they put in their fridge to cool down for us. Good in-room safe, large enough for laptop. Large grocery store only 350m away.
- The room was comfortable and warm with plenty of hot water and a cozy bed. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant and the staff were very helpful. There was safe parking.
Cons -
- No refrigerator or kettle in room. No air conditioning but not needed at this time of year.
- The only thing we didn't enjoy was the loud music from the restaurant that started around 8:30pm and was on until well past 10pm - it was impossible to not hear it loudly in our room, so we didn't sleep very well.
