    Pros +

    • The hotel was very quaint and charming. The staff was really sweet and helpful. It was located around great restaurants and cafes, all within walking distance.
    • Gorgeous, sprawling property covered in plants. Nice staff, good little restaurant, free drinking water. Our room was huge and beautiful. Good beds and good pillows.
    • Great location, lovely public garden spaces.

    Cons -

    • The WiFi could have been better. I really don't have any other complains. :)
    • 3 of 5 nights bass from a neighbourhood disco. that went on late into the night.
    • Wifi worked erratically during our 3 night stay ( most of the time: not), the staff cannot solve the problem: professional repair required.

It's a very nice hotel in a quiet street in the center of the city. We stayed in room 129 and found it very pleasant, with everything working, quiet a/c with heating function, cold and hot water ( be patient) with consistent pressure. They have rooms with hard and with soft mattresses, so if you have a preference: better tell them.

Wifi worked erratically during our 3 night stay ( most of the time: not), the staff cannot solve the problem: professional repair required.

The room was comfortable and staff was very kind and helpful. Very comfortable bed. And the restaurant for breakfast.

Could be noisy to noisy, depending on the guests. I had no problems. People were considerate.

Beautiful small hotel in the heart of Xalapa, but quiet and with beautiful gardens

    Everything is nice

It is a quiet property that has beautifully maintained patios and many outdoor seats to enjoy them! They offer all the services you need: breakfast, water for refilling your bottles, laundry service, etc. There is lots of hot water and water pressure. Everyone is very polite, even other guests.

Xalapa is extremely hilly and the hotel’s street is typical of that.

Parking lot in front of the hotel, my room was comfortable, clear, everything worked well, in a good location near downtown and other attractions. They have water containers to fill your drinking bottles.

The breakfast was ok, but nothing special.

    8DavidPosted on: 5-1-2025

    Nice patio and very quiet.

The options available for the breakfast were a bit limited compared to Mexican standards.

    9DebraPosted on: 4-9-2025

This hotel on a very quiet little side street is spotless and features a beautiful inner garden and upstairs patio for hanging out. Conveniently located. Good value. Coffee pot with free coffee in our room each morning. Separate little restaurant for breakfast downstairs.Nice hot shower, tiled bathroom with toilet is eparate from tiled shower.

Internet connections on second floor where our room was were non existent. Bed was a bit hard for my taste. Street is very narrow and beware of one way streets in this hilly town if driving.

excellent small hotel, great location, quiet, clean, helpful staff. B'fast not included, weak coffee

Posada del Cafeto is ideally located - just a couple of blocks from the center of Xalapa, but also on a very quiet street. The courtyard was lovely, and the staff very helpful.

Beautiful gardens with tables and chairs to relax. Exceptionally clean, Lovely Mexican wood furniture, on a very quiet street.

Nicely fitted hotel close to the centre of Xalapa.Closed off parking available.

Charming quiet colonial hotel. Well located and serving an excellent breakfast. Self serve drinking water is a very nice bonus.

The pillows and bed were not the most comfortable. The thin curtains let in a lot of light at night.

    10JohnPosted on: 2-3-2025

The hotel is beautiful, the facilities comfortable and the gardening gorgeous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There’s also an outstanding restaurant about a 5 minute walk away. Internet connection was reliable.

The cafe food is okay, not excellent

    8RobertPosted on: 1-16-2025

excellent location, beautiful grounds, spacious room

suite should be better equipped - for example, dish soap and cloth. TV location is poor - perhaps add another.Sofa is useful as bed, not comfortable for sitting.

Beautiful inn with well-manicured gardens! The staff is very helpful and welcoming. We had a lovely two-day stay here.

    Everything was wonderful!

    9EllenPosted on: 1-5-2025

Garden view. Quiet side street. Having a kitchen was helpful for the holidays when many restaurants were closed. Would stay here again.

The Posada is on a quiet street but minutes from the center. They have a nice garden. The room had everything needed. The safe was nice to have.Plenty of sights and restaurants. Along the Juarez Garden there's the local museum presenting the monastery which used to be there before. The Diego Rivera Pinotheka has paintings, but Riveras pictures are in Orizaba. Extra time --walk along Calle Illustre. There are several places with paintings by University Veracruz .The cultural center has changing exhibits and Mercado Garcia's next to the big church up the hill are all worthwhile. The highlight of course is the museum of Anthropology.- a must

I requested a room downstairs, but even so I stayed 5 nights I got a room near the reception and restaurant. There was always noise between 7am-10 pm. It's a big place, so get a room away from the noise.
