    Pros +

    • The suite I was upgraded to was very well designed and elegant. The staff (Sebastian and especially, Jan were very good with their approach and attitude towards making sure the stay was perfect).
    • Really lovely and roomy space. Bed great. Renee worked really hard to make this work. Place is very understaffed
    • The location, the convenience of the restaurant

    Cons -

    • There is still some work being done to make the new design changes to the outside and certain units are still being renovated (however, the staff are truly committed to making sure that the customer has an experience that is worth the cost).
    • The hot water in the morning and evening was not really hot.Fire didn't work.Room not attended to for second night. So bed unmade, no tea bags etc and whole breakfast hamper still sittingAte in the restaurant - waited a seriously long time to be attended Renee was apologetic and provided complimentary entree. That was great but we felt for her. She was doing waiting, serving drinks and food, payments and anything else needed. Only staff member. The entire meal entertainment was from the table behind which seated an owner and manager, we assume for this business, talking with some sort of promoter who spoke loudly and we heard the entire business meeting. Perhaps could have done this at another time and helped out in the restaurant. Food standard did not compensate for the wait and lack of service. We were asked for drinks at start but never revisited. Finally - No breakfast hamper on second morning. Just didn't happen. First morning, toast, no butter only chutney. Since we couldn't find the cutlery we had dry toast. Pastry and muslie left.I would suggest they detail the location of cutlery etc on the info sheet. We couldn't find any cutlery. We did not eat dinner there 2nd night.
    • The noise early in the morning caused by the trades carrying out the current renovations

Views overlooking the waterUpgraded as they were renovating some rooms, so had a new unit, perfect location?

    ?.?

We were booked by booking.com for a 1 bedroom suite with Seaview. What we got was a 1 bedroom studio with a view of the parking lot and a partial Seaview. A microwave and fridge do not make a kitchenette. Not worth the price paid!

Great location and quite a unique type of place to stay. Lovely view from outside the room. Onsite restaurant was good (but skip the breakfast hamper). Very close to the Hogarth Falls walking track (can highly recommend) and only a minute down the road from the Gordon River Cruises terminal. Despite being in a room not yet renovated it was well furnished (other than the double bed). Friendly staff. Have to do the Hogarth Falls and Gordon River Cruise while here.

Double/king bed needs to be replaced but they are in the process of completely renovating all rooms and believe the room we stayed in is only weeks away from being done (we obviously stayed in a room that hasn't yet been renovated). Luckily we also had a single bed that my wife ended up sleeping on. The $20 per person breakfast hamper is not worth it.

Great location close to Ferry Jetty and main street, clean and new rooms, and a very tasty meal in the Restaurant

The views compensated a lot for the (very) ill kempt surrounds. The staff were lovely!

Shabby chic may be trendy but not at the present price. Refurbishment may fix this eventually but currently immediate hotel surrounds, walkways, decks, gardens and staircases very disappointing. No privacy - windows uncovered for all to see into the room and our luggage as they passed by. Two small wall hooks for hanging any clothes etc. no clothes hangers or discrete space for hanging anything. The only way to ensure privacy and security while in or out of the room was to close the blockout curtains - not ideal for during the day especially with such a beautiful view - felt uncomfortable and very exposed with other guests looking in and waving as we lay on the bed enjoying the sunset! The huge bath unsafe - nowhere to hold onto to prevent slipping when entering or exiting and too big to fill with warm enough water! Nowhere other than a very small stool to put soap and towels to be reachable. The internet constantly buffering made the television movies unwatchable. Evening restaurant visitors consumed the available parking - no designated parking for guests.

    Amazing view

No sign of luxury. Outdated rooms, old & dirty carpets and furniture, dripping water faucets, squeaky doors, smelly bathroom.

    6PattiPosted on: 2-9-2025

Location - right on the water

Faded - an air of neglect eg the repairs to the deck. Microwave & toaster provided but no plates. Acoustics poor - neighbour noise. Attempt at refurbishment (Art Deco) not sympathetic to the location & style of the ‘boutique’ hotel. Nowhere to put clothes - no drawers, shelves

    5DerekPosted on: 1-27-2025

Great location, view from outside room, large room

Uncomfortable bed, dark room - lack of windows, plumbing needed fixing, poor value

    8ChristinePosted on: 1-24-2025

View and location was great. Facilities are great taste and design. Staff went to an effort to give us cheese platter and breakfast basket which was nice.

Some of the amenities haven't quite been ironed out yet. The air con was broken. There were no plates to eat the breakfast on. Coffee mugs didn't fit into the coffee machine. Bath didn't have any soap or shampoo amenities. Would expect 2 towels per person for the price of the nightly room rate.

    Location and staff

Paid top dollar for a room with no windows. Was so dark you had to have lights on during day, view from small bedroom window was of the rubbish skips and building site. Was not warned about this room. Had I known we would not have stayed there.

    6JudithPosted on: 1-8-2025

Restaurant was convenient, great views. Food did not meet expectations - overcooked and a bit expensive for the quality

    8NormaPosted on: 1-7-2025

Beautiful modern clean and brand new fancy rooms. Super comfortable bed large bed, awesome heated floor, comfortable chairs. Great shower.Great outlook and looks like it’ll be an awesome place to stay when the building works are completed.. The restaurant looks very nice, but we didn’t go there as we had a Gordon River cruise booked.

Not what was promised in the description. The facilities were unfinished. The spa and fire weren’t connected, it was a bit of a worksite out the back where the spa was. The rooms weren’t very private if you had the curtains open, I guess they will fix this when the property is finished. The breakfast option was an added expense.I had thought we were upgraded, but because the facilities weren’t finished I don’t feel like we were? They didn’t let us know that we wouldn’t have the facilities that were shared in our booking before we stayed there, I went and asked for the remote control for the gas fire and was told it hadn’t been connected yet ??‍♀️

    It was a lovely location

I did not get what I paid for.I paid for second level private verandah with views.I got a room that all curtains needed to be closed to maintain privacy.as one window was looking over a construction site. One was looking at diners on the verandah restaurant and the other was part of the thoroughfair for restaurant and other residents .The room shared a wall with the kitchen so was noisy. Restaurant patrons could be heard. While the room is freshly renovated it is mutton dressed as lamb. The water pressure is not enough to fill the bath and have it remain warm. Every noise from adjoining rooms and the restaurant can be heard. No iron no ironing board. Not 1 coat hanger or hanging space. Quite frankly we were ripped off and if I had another option I would have left immediately. However the was no other options. We didn't sleep well as the room above us was noisy ( every footstep was heard ) then woken to noise again in the morning. I normally will not give a negative review but this was beyond disgraceful. It was a complete rip off.So we paid for a second level room with views and got to spend the afternoon and evening in a room with all curtains closed. No views. Would have been better off at a ymca, at least it would have been honest

Risky Cove is located a 5 minute walk from the centre of town and the Gordon River ferries. The hotel was very stylish and well presented and newly refurbished.
