Lovely decor and breakfast was good.

Not sure about the description in the title about the gardens. Generally the place felt cold in the common areas.

Location, comfort of the room (bed super comfy). Staff were excellent great welcome and very helpful

The hotel was a "home from home" while moving house. The hotel was a real haven from all the mess of moving house, and I asked for a bath in both our rooms and got it, and that was bliss.

The food at dinner was ok but not great. It might be better in the summer months when they have more guests eating in, and when upgrading the running of the kitchen is more cost effective. The pub down the road is very busy so the costumers are there, its just a matter of capturing the market.

Brrakfast was good, the bed comfortable and the shower strong. What more could you want?!

Beautifully decorated and let rooms, bathroom was well kept and clean

Room was lovely, tastefully decorated in fitting with the building. Nice gardens and outside terrace but we didn’t get to use it as it was so wet.

Hotel very clean, bedroom and en-suite of a high standard. Nice breakfast.

The property had a lively approach albeit in a housing estate you didn’t feel that once inside

We was told we had been an upgrade of the room only to have a very cold room but also the hot water system had a constant air block and then was informed it was the only room that did? So whilst being upgraded to a classic (although cosy room looked like the room we was in) we then had these problems would have been better to have the original room with no problems?!

Location and nice welcome when we arrived

Room was freezing and damp - restaurant lacked atmosphere- no music - staff no where to be seen and waited ages to be served dinner and breakfast th next day (ate out on second night)

A lovely hotel, the cosy room was ample for us and very comfortable. Food was great and we were taken care of throughout our stay. Excellent value

Very nice and in keeping with traditional British decor.Beautiful food served in the restaurant.Tim the owner and the entirety of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.Such a nice traditional place to stay. Loved it.

Style, service and location

Tiny feedback! Hose on the outside tap to help wash dogs off after walk. Staff great thu helped with container to put water in.

Lost for words

Lack of care for guests ,we were the only ones staying, no members of staff on site !! We left at 9.30pm as after numerous issues heating cold water ,shower flooding and not working afficantly!! We phoned the emergency number spoke to a guy called Tim who said he woukd call the owner ! Tim phoned back saying he could not reach the owner !! I have since learnt from a family member who lives local that "Tim is the owner " and wanted to deal with plumbing issues over the phoe !!! At that point i said NO and we left !!! We went and found a proper hotel !! That did provide for us , staying in a hotel should not be an endurance test or safety issues!!

Everything was ok (at best)Nothing was out of the ordinary

Room was small (loft at the top floor) and cold (heating was quite poor).We complain about it and instead of putting us on a different room (the hotel was nearly empty) we were told that they'll look on it the next day (when we checked out; we only stayed for 1 night)Bed was also small, certainly not suitable for a 6ft man like me.

The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. Plenty of hot water & mattress was comfortable.Didn't have dinner as we were visiting relatives.

There was no overhead light in the room so I couldn't sew next to the lamp & watch TV at the same time. I was taking up my husband's trousers (a dark colour) for his Xmas present!

I found both the bedroom and the public areas to be very clean and comfortable, although there was some inground black mold along the base of the shower.

When I booked in it was with the expectation that the hotel was fully open. This was not the case and the restaurant and bar were closed on the Monday of my stay so I had to make alternative arrangements for dinner. The hotel should not have advertised as being open, and management admitted they were closed for December. My booking should never have been accepted. In mitigation management upgraded my room. I am not a fan of doorless wardrobes. The bathroom was tiny, with a small size toilet. The mirror in the bathroom was too far behind the sink to see properly for shaving – suggest a separate shaving mirror. There was a step down from the bathroom to the bedroom that needs a hazard warning as I forgot the step and fell into the bedroom, luckily landing on the bed, otherwise I would have injured myself. Booking.com advertise that this hotel supplies bath robes – this is misinformation and they do not supply bath robes. The food in my opinion was ok but small portions and pricey for what it was.

Room was cold and one radiator didn't work. Curtain partly Detached . Too many stairs to reach bedroom. Not exactly cosy for a winter visit. Staff very friendly but maybe overstretched.

Lovely Hotel, ideal location for exploring, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, very friendly & helpful staff. Breakfasts were delicious as was the dinner! I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful evening meal and delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, very friendly member of staff, lovely lounge/bar area (a great place to catch up with friends), a beautiful location.

The member of staff was excellent, and couldn't have been more helpful. A truly lovely person - 10/10. However, there is only one front of house person, so if she was showing someone to their room, there was no-one in the lounge to serve drinks. It may be just this way in the cold off season weeks though. Otherwise a faultless stay.

Room Took a while to warm up as we had a sudden cold snap but it got there eventually! Had a little issue with the shower but it got sorted immediately. Can’t fault the service.
