The Old Cable Historic House is a Designated Milestone Heritage Site tracing its origins to The First Transatlantic Telegraph Cable from Ireland to the USA in 1866. A halfway stopping point on the Ring of Kerry, the guest house is 5-minutes’ walk from Waterville beach. At the house guests can experience the remarkable story of this defining moment in Ireland's and technological history. With views of the ocean and the surrounding countryside this charming guest house offers bright, spacious rooms with Wi-Fi. Free parking is also available. The Kerry Dark Sky Reserve surrounds Old Cable House and is considered one of the best places in the world due to its pristine dark skies and lack of light pollution. Cooked Irish and continental breakfasts are served daily and there is also a selection of evening meals available. Produce is locally sourced with fresh seafood from the Atlantic and Kerry lamb and beef. Waterville is renowned for its sea trout and salmon fishing. It also features a championship standard golf course, which is just a 5-minute walk away.

- The price, if they didn¿t cancel my booking without warning.
- Nice room and good location
Cons -
- Drive 1.5 hours to the hotel after booking and they informed us that they gave our room away to a walk-in. We were left stranded at 8 pm with nowhere to go and zero help finding a new hotel. Owners were rude and completely lied to us. Do not stay here.
- We could not cancel a night , we lost a full nights cost because we wanted to change our travel plans .
