The Hôtel Princesse Flore is a luxury hotel located in Royat in the Auverge region, 1.9 mi from Clermont Ferrand. It offers comfortable, personalized guest rooms and free WiFi. The hotel was entirely refurbished in 2008 and keeps its 19th-century atmosphere. Rooms and suites are elegant, modern and fully equipped with air conditioning, a TV and private bathrooms. The on-site Royatonic Spa Center has a sauna and offers massages. Guests can enjoy fine dining at La Flèche d'Argent. The other restaurant, Le Panoramique, is open during summer season and features views of Clermont Ferrand. Swiming shorts are not allowed in the Spa, only swiming suits. The Hôtel Princesse Flore is close to the casino, modern art museum and many other cultural sites.

Additional passes can be purchased for EUR 20. For our Privilege Double Room, access to the Royatonic Spa & Wellness Center is charged EUR 20 per person. - The hotel is pleasant and beautiful. The room, although not large, offers a reasonable amount of space, including a desk, chair, and armchair. The bathroom is well-designed, with the shower and toilet in separate areas. The lobby and bar are elegant and tastefully decorated. Some staff members, particularly those at the bar and the night reception, are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Cons -
- -The SPA, in partnership with the hotel, charged the hotel for the entrance fee, even though we did not use the facilities. This was due to a rule prohibiting regular swim shorts, allowing only tight-fitting Lycra swimwear. We were not informed of this restriction when purchasing our tickets at the hotel reception. Even at the SPA reception, no one warned us, and there were no signs displayed. It was only after we had validated our tickets, entered the SPA, and reached the pool that an employee informed us that my husband's swimwear was not permitted. He then suggested that we could purchase the appropriate swimwear downstairs. We decided to leave the SPA and informed the reception. When we asked whether they would notify the hotel or if we had to do it ourselves, they told us they had no phone to contact the hotel So, I called the hotel reception myself, only to be told that the SPA had already charged the hotel and that nothing could be done. I found this utterly absurd. The receptionist was adamant, and when I pointed out how unreasonable the situation was, she hung up on me. We returned to the reception and, after insisting, were told that the manager would be informed. The next day, the manager of the reception was polite and offered us a goodwill gesturecomplimentary breakfasts, that we declined. However, when it came time to settle the bill, we found out that, in the end, the SPA had not been charged. Still, this did not undo the inconvenience we had experienced. In a five-star hotel, such miscommunication and poor handling of guests are unacceptable.
