Hotel Goldene Rose

The place was fine. The manager was very rude.

We asked if we could borrow a bottle opener to open a bottle of wine for our room and possibly some glasses For the first time in my life, the manager flat out refused Told us no, and they wouldn’t allow me to use a bottle opener. Told me we would have to buy a bottle of there. I walked out, went to the hotel next-door asked the exact same thing and they said absolutely open the wine and asked me if I needed glasses. And all my traveling never had such a rude response.

The breakfast was wonderful!

Carpet in the room is old and gross. Hardly any hotels have carpet anymore. Yuk. Only one pillow per person that was very soft.

Room was perfect, very large with good views, bed was cosy. Lots of storage space. And pretty balcony. Lech is in small walking distance.

Breakfast - not lot of options to choose from, coffee felt bit weak. Not many warm options. Personally dont reccomend it - everything else was perfect tho.

Perfect and nice staff.Perfect breakfast and clean and very comfortable rooms.

If it had kettle for tea in room, it would be better.

Large room, well appointed to fit a cot. Great food at the restaurant and good breakfast.

Close to a slightly noisy street, so leaving windows open at night is difficult.

The staff were very unfriendly in the restaurant. The restaurant is busy but they did not treat us well and ignored us for 15 minutes when we sat down for dinner. When I asked to see a menu , a lady screamed at me “ one minute “ they then took another 10 minutes to bring a menu and were unpleasant throughout the whole dinner. We had driven for 6 hours so couldn’t be bothered going anywhere else. There was a staff member that was nice to us and took the time to explain the menu, it was all in German and we are from Australia so couldn’t read it. The breakfast was ok but again one staff member was awful and one was nice. We have stayed in about 8 different places in Germany, Austria, Prague, Amsterdam over the last two weeks and this was the one that we would not go back to.

Nice Tyroler style hotel and people serving in traditional clothes. Nice hotel at good location with parking space

Unfortunately there was no charging options close by so I had to leave empty next morning to start with a quick charge, not ideal and costed extra travel time

everything was good. I forgot to turn in my key and gave it to a person on the train going to Reutte., I hope you got it

The manager Peter was the best asset of this hotel. His ervice was excellent and his customer understanding/ anticipation of customer needs were perfect.

That we had to pay a cleaning fee . This is not an air BnB. And with 3 people I had no choice but to book an apartment away from main hotel building. A cleaning fee should not be charged.

Wonderful restaurant manager that took very good care of us. Excellent food and local Austrian wines. Very accommodating as we were a group of 8. We would come back anytime.

It was a good location. The hotel restaurant soup and meat dishes are really good. Room was simple, but a modern and large shower is nice.

I accidentally left an item and asked it be shipped back. They up charged a 17 Euro ship cost to 30 Euro as a service charge to ship it. I agreed and paid the 30 Euro then wrote a review stating I was surprised by the additional fee instead of just shipping a left item as a courtesy. The email I got back was my item was to be held hostage until I improved my hotel review rating. The original rating was a 4 out of 10, agreed a bit harsh given the frustration (I have corrected now).I'm disappointed on how this was handled by the hotel manager. Holding the item hostage to a better rating is inappropriate. I told them to keep the left item and cancel the shipping payment. I still recommend you consider staying, it is a good hotel. I'm simply capturing an experience that didn't meet my expectations for what I would expect of good customer service in handling this situation.

Straightforward check-in, nicely located, great breakfast

We had a double bed and one of us slept on the couch during the whole stay. Also, part of the personnel needed to warm up in the mornings.

Good food, hotel very pleasant in terms of decor and ambience.

Expensive, would prefer secure or private parking for our motorcycles.

The restaurant was amazing. Beautiful architecture, friendly staff, delicious food, and the most extensive and gourmet included breakfast I’ve ever seen.

We booked a 3-person room and it turned out to be a beautiful giant suite with extra gathering space and a long connected balcony. Far exceeded our expectations.

The location was great with lovely views and the food at the restaurant was really good.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work very well and there was no air con in the rooms or fans and it was really warm.

Pretty much on a stage of the Lech hike , excellent restaurant on site lovely food and decor , good breakfast,lovely staff.

Rooms were a little dated , took quite a while to check in

Tea and coffee making in room would have been nice but could be obtained in bar area downstairs
