Mahoe Motel

The room as just what we needed for our short stay of one night before doing the Timber Trail. Host Jenny was wonderful as we arrived late and left early - nothing was a problem. Everything we needed was there, it was clean and the beds comfy. A basic motel but great value for money.

The beds were the best ever. They were soft and comfy, and we loved them. There was a bit of road noise, but due to the great beds, once we were asleep, nothing was waking us. The facilities were not the most up-to-date, but they were super comfy, so we didn't mind. There were great views out the back windows.

A hairdryer in the bathroom would be great, but the owner was happy to provide one when asked.

Very friendly owner answered my pre-arrival questions promptly. On arrival we were shown an older room and then offered a larger, recently upgraded, room designed for a family group. Lovely rural view from the rear and covered parking at the front door. Unit was clean. Excellent pressure in shower. Good internet speed. Effective heatpump.

As motel is on main highway with railway line opposite, we were warned about noise from heavy trucks and trains at night. We didn't find this excessive. No oven, but microwave and hobs available. Small fridge with no freezer. TV small. No kitchen scissors.

Would not recommend usable or suitable for powerchair user.

Room not accessible for power wheelchair user, Lucky he didnt come. Strong damp and stale smell. Water damaged ceiling work done poorly. Bathroom filthy.

Right by highway, so trucks quite loud and "heavy"

Awesome view of rural outlook Staff friendly and helpful, road was not too noisy, good parking, plenty of space for our things.

The road noise, wear ear plugs to bed,

large rooms they were clean, staff were very friendly and didn't experience too much noise for the adjoining rooms

Was all as expected for the price range.

Helpful owner gave me information on avoiding the road closure near the motel, and was very accommodating of our late check in. Motel until it clean and basic, amazing water pressure and lovely warm shower. TV could do with upgrading. Having more blankets available would have been good; the heat pump is unfortunately placed right above your head, and it’s pretty noisy (could do with a clean too)

We liked everything! The only thing that could have been improved was the dining chairs - we had to use our pillows as cushions. Didn't notice any traffic noise to complain about, everything was clean and tidy, there were ample 'extras', like coffee, tea, hot choc drinks, milk.

Just the dining chairs, needing more padding. Everything else was totally as expected, and good value for money. The shower was complicated! But great - great strength and hot!

Warm welcome, clean relaxing environment. Valuable after hard day at work.

The staff member was very abrupt and not helpful. It's advertised as motel and grill. The grill did not appear and was not mentioned. Phone call to office was not answered or call returned.

The area is very secluded and 7 minutes drive from the town. The host was really helpful and cheerful and really good in telling all the necessary information. For the price it was perfect stay.

The toilets were a bit unclean and there were flies around...but it was ok once we closed the window.

Thank you for offering a realistic priced self contained motel close to both town and the Timber Trail. We were super comfortable with the layout and space. Having two seperate bedrooms for a group of 5 was absolutely brilliant. Fantastic communication from owner Jenny before arriving. Could not have asked for more.. thanks so much!

Great location, clean rooms, and good value for money.

Although dated the motel exceeded our expectations. It has good sized rooms and facilities all worked well. Would stay again and although out of town was close enough to drive in for meals. Helpful owners and reasonably priced.

Traffic noise wasn't as bad as had been bexpected from previous reviews

Modern rooms with all amenities, very clean.

Being right on the highway the trucks passing by can be a bit loud, while sleeping.
