    Pros +

    • Staff where Friendly...Location perfect for exploring Village. It was clean.
    • I very much liked location and the building, the views very beautifulThe renovation is not exactly up to par, a bit too kitsch, plus less is more in my view. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great to see that this hotel provides water for guests, as well as fruit and cookiesBringing a pet is no problemVery good sized rooms and bathrooms
    • Cool hotel, nice and roomy. A desk would have been nice, but the common areas were great.

    Cons -

    • For an Historical property...The Neglect is present...Everything from the AC to the restaurante being closed gives the impression of not being welcomed...Areas of the property are roped off. Paper cups in my room at a 4 star property is a 101 no no...Overpriced and you get nothing...Booked two days stayed one...
    • The decoration was a bit too much for me, a bit of touch up here and there would be goodProper restaurant would have been nice, food offered for room service did look to interestingBreakfast could have been better, a bit of a downer, considering the region, I would have expected better quality and regional products (also here, less is more)
    • Google maps was incorrect. The breakfast was not great.

The simpathy of the staff. Snooker for free. The possibility of exploring all the building (an old monastery).

Bikes for free were not so appealing.

My stay was wonderful. A lovely place, staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was extremely well presented with a variety of fruits, cereals, cold buffet and hot buffet. Five star treatment and highly recomendable.

This is such a beautiful building and the room was quite spacious. It even had a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. We checked in on Valentines day and to our surprise one of the staff delivered champagne and strawberries to our room! There were already complimentary treats in the room, some cookies and chocolates. Nice breakfast selection.

small territory and old fashioned style. rooms are cold , warming did not work well, furniture old, territory poorly cleaned.

The hotel is in a beautifully renovated convent, on a hill. It is spectacular. The pool is lovely and clean. Easy to find!

Pool, breakfast, quiet. We would have given the review a 10 but we found the decor and maintenance needed a little attention here and there.Nice restaurants locally and pool table a nice touch.

Make sure to explore all the hidden rooms amd facilities of this coverted old monestary turned hotel. Sunset view from the pool is majestic.

Absolutely lovely and very helpful staff, clean and well decorated rooms. I arrived by motorbike and they offered my a space for it in a locked garage at no extra fee. Good breakfast with some warm foods as well. Location just off the main street of the village with everything within (very short) walking distance. Would stay again! :)

The Convento is a beautiful old building in a lovely, quiet town which we very much liked. It is well positioned for exploring the Eastern area of Portugal. Our room was spacious, overlooked the pool - which we did not use but looked very good, the interior cloister was an attractive space. The hotel does not have its own restaurant but there are a couple within a short walk. We tried both but much preferred O'Acafrao where staff were much friendlier, the food first class, the house wine excellent and the price very reasonable. The hotel has a bar which does provide good, light snacks.

It very closely resembles a Pousada but it lacks the quality of Pousadas with the furniture a little worn, but it is far better value than a Pousada. Breakfast was good but probably a bit below the average we encountered in our two week tour.

First class. Very friendly staff, some who spoke good English

Our bed was too soft and not very comfortable

Staff were incredibly helpful, very high level of service. Pool was wonderful. Bed was very comfy. Town was very beautiful. Good breakfast spread and good bar. Beautiful historical building.
