Pros +
- Loved the lodge! So many fun things to do, great food, friendly staff. Hope to come back soon.
- Location cannot be beat, cozy atmosphere, roomFurnishings, large rooms
- The location is wonderful, with the best views of the Methow River Valley looking west, towards North Cascades National Park.
Cons -
- It’s a little tired and needs to be cleaned a bit better. For example, windows had kid hands and face marks on them. The hot tub was not warm enough at all. Many people commenting on this. It’s not been like that during prior visits
- At dinner, I overheard a conversation at the table next to us; it was a special day and the two couples were looking forward to having a bottle of wine that they had brought with them—just for this occasion. Under normal circumstances, a ten or fifteen dollar corkage fee is to be expected. However, they were shocked (as was I) when the server told them the service fee to open their bottle of wine would be $35.00. There was a moment of awkwardness, some muted conversation, and then they declined. After the server walked away it was apparent that the positive energy at that table had dissipated. What should have been—what COULD have been—a memorable dinner had instead been marred by an ill-informed policy that, in my opinion, was less focused on elevating the guests' experience and more about driving sales for the lodge's wine cellar. Contrary to Gordon Gekko's opinion in the film Wall Street, greed isn't necessarily good.
- Smoke and the T-shirt I needed to replace was not available in the gift shop
