- Not a true handicap room unable to bath my husband in a wheelchair in the shower. The handicap bars not adequate for a person with limited mobility. room small for a wheelchair to move around in without doing multiple lifts and pulls of his chair to get to the bathroom. I know there are minimums by ADA to meet handicap room but very stressful for both of us. We went to the Upper Península to see his parents in failing health. I fell at Manistique so being injured not being granted what we needed was horrible. The price paid we just had to say let's make it work were here to see my parents, The problem being we were so unhappy I drove over 7 hours to return home after are last hotel stay, we were just done with the accommodations not meeting our needs and just paying for a bed.
