Fosshotel Hellnar

Hotel setting near to ocean is beautiful (though they charge extra for a room with ocean view). Good breakfast offering. Good shower. Some English language TV stations offered. Nice 'reading area' near lobby.

Room was too small for two people and their luggage. Restaurant meals were expensive (even by Iceland standards).

The location is perfect after driving around the peninsula. Awesome views and easy to find. Dinner was quite delicious and breakfast had enough selection. I would stay there again on my next trip to that area of Iceland

I did not like the bathroom. The shower doors were in bad shape.

Excellent service and accommodations. The employee at the reception desk  was friendly and helpful. Definitely an excellent choice for an Iceland vacation.north trip.

Location and the restaurant.

Rooms were warm and had to keep the window open. Would have liked to know that only body wash was provided.

This place is a a slice of heaven. The staff are amazing, the breakfast buffet is touch tier, the beds are comfy and the location is stunning. They even wished a happy honeymoon.

The water pressure in the shower wasn’t very strong.

Beautiful property right on the water. The coastal cliff walk to Arnarstapi starts right behind the hotel, and it's a beautiful walk in the morning. Get the breakfast included, good spread and worth it.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was excellent. We were blessed to see the Northern Lights put on a spectacular show right above the hotel during our one night stay. Breakfast was also delicious, and we had a beautiful view of the sun rising over the water from our breakfast table. Highly recommend staying at Fosshotel Hellnar.

We've stayed here on previous trips to the area becase we liked the room size and comfort. The restaurant serves a decent (if repetative) breakfase and a few good menu options for dinner. The staff is always very helpful and attentive. The hotel is in a good location for exploring the whole of the Snaefellsness area.

Our room ran out of water, unfortunately in the middle of taking a shower. Apparently this is a known issue. There was no real offer of a solution other than to try later or maybe not take a shower in the morning. Iceland is NOT short on water, nor the ability to make hot water. We stayed four nights and requested room service once. All we got were fresh towels, no trash collection or coffee bar refreshing (we had to retrive those ourselves at reception). Maybe because we were at the end of the season, maintenance wasn't a high priority but these are basic services one would expect, especially for the price paid.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. They went out of their way to assure we were well taken care of during our stay.

Nothing. The hotel met our expectations for comfort, a decent menu for both breakfast and dinner and a good location when visiting the area.

Clean room, very quiet village

Shower very unsafe. All open and all the water on a very slippery tile floor. I slipped and got hurt.

Location is great. Ocean view is great. Breakfast is good value.

The room is too small. Cannot even put toilet try bag in the bathroom. Too cramped. Did not offer any room service during our 3 -night stay.

We stayed in ten Iceland hotels. All were lovely. This room was the smallest and the least value. Also, it was the smallest room.

Check in was a breeze. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I like that they had a heater in the bathroom. We had two wonderful meals in their restaurant. We got to see the Northern Lights right outside our room!!

The location is beautiful; nestled between the ocean and mountains. The views were lovely. The community spaces were well decorated and fun to use. The rooms were very clean.

The rooms were small and the price was high compared to the other nine hotels we stayed at while traveling the ring road.

The location is very good for exploring the peninsula. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The single cover on bed. My wife and I were either too hot or too cold. Cover is weighted and if it slips to one side it slides all the way to the floor.

We love this hotel. Our 2nd time staying here. Great room and showers. Dinner and Breakfast are excellent. Love the reception area to chill and enjoy . the employees are very nice and work hard to meet your needs. Very professional.
