    • Location
    • I was very satisfied with the hotel overall. I’ve stayed there once before. I especially liked having breakfast each morning in the dining room. I enjoyed being on the river and the hotel is in a lovely neighborhood.

    Cons -

    • No food on a Sunday at 5:30pmReception abandoned for 15+ minutes at my arrival Place is run down on all levels Shocking this is not a 2* place
    • Our room was comfortable but not as nice as the room I stayed in during my last visit.
    • Upon arrival, had to haul luggage up the front steps. Small elevator to upper floors which opened onto a small landing and them had to haul luggage up more stairs to the room. Housekeeping was poor. Had to ask for everything…clean glasses, coffee cups, towels, linens, coffee set up.

Fantastic location with a lot of history. High class service and food. Great view from our balcony. Huge bathroom with a separate balcony. Safe area and very quiet. Beautiful beer garden on the property. A huge walking trail starts between the hotel and the Rhein, where you can walk or cycle all the way through the great park, and in to the city.

Did not have aircondition only a fan in the room.

The river. Nice restaurant nearby. Huge rooms. Cool interior

    The view outside my room.

Beautiful view. A little creeped out by the history of this place — the WW2 part. Clean — great bed and bedding. Breakfast is good but several places around town are probably a better deal. Loved the Biergarten. Staff was very helpful.

The hotel has No a/c and no fans —means that on a 93 (Fahrenheit) degree day, we were left sweltering. You can keep the doors open but no movement of air inside the room, and the inside from the river traffic and bugs kept us from sleeping too well. We had to ask for a fan — which was promptly provided. The housekeeping was a little erratic .. sometimes coffee cups were irregularly refreshed, and same with glasses and towels. No lotion or bar soap provided — jsit a note to bring your own. Too many conferences so it was noisy sometimes.

I did not know about the history of this hotel when I booked it and I was surprised to find out that it even has a 2 episodes movie about it. Look it up and see what is the white house on the Rhine. The internet is good, the location is quiet and nice. A great place for a quiet escape.

Not so many choices of restaurants arround it. But you can eat in Bonn center. No bathtub.

    Situation

We did not get the room that we expected - lateral view instead of full front river view. The reception clerk admitted that the room categories had been changed and that Booking should have amended their site accordingly. However, the hotel made a financial gesture (breakfasts offered), which was appeciated.Nevertheless, we were disappointed not to have the room we rerserved.

High ceiling and good breakfast, classic building.

The room reserved is Courtyard view. But the room has a window with a very small view on top of an inner roof, not a courtyard. The reception agreed to change the room by the end. But on the 2nd day morning when we check-out, a lady in the reception told us that the previous room was a the right room with a courtyard view and in principle they shall charge extra to us although by the end they did not charge the extra. In the evening at about 19:30, we asked if we can set in the dinning room for a drink, which has a river view. However, the service person refused us and told us that he has no sufficient employee to provide the service. In stead he suggested us to set in the reception without a review view.

    Breakfast was excellent

Dinner portion was really not enough. We ordered Entebruste (price 34 EUR) and it was really not enough food. There were only 3 little potates (diameter 1.5 cm with it). We had to go to another restaurant to eat more. Also, there is no child menu at reduced price. One does expect this from a family hotel.

Great location, comfortable bed, very good breakfast

Thin walls - you can hear what is happening in the room next door.

The location was top notch. Right on the Rhein river in a nice area.

The staff could have been a bit more attentive. Upon arrival we were not offered any help with our bags up the stairs in the entrance. The carpet throughout the hotel looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 1950s.

Clean, big room. Balcony room facing the river.

Location is deserted by evening. No amenities are provided, even if you ask for toiletries, no one brings it.Small bath area, can't even raise hands

Absolutely delightful stay in a stunning location on the Rhine River. Despite the overcast and sometimes rainy conditions, it certainly could not take away from this wonderful olde-worldy, charming hotel.Located in the beautiful villa neighbourhood, just outside Bonn, it was the perfect location for us to either walk along the Rhine or in amongst the cute, winding streets and laneways.

    9MyraPosted on: 10-19-2024

The location and on the Rhine River.

My room was by the stairwell and above the kitchen. I could hear noise from both. I would not put people in 125 unless you were totally booked.

Great location and history. Very nice staff.

Lack of a bar and facilities to meet with other guests. Very crowded and noisy when hosting weddings.

Great location, beautiful outlook and building. Room was basic but I had everything I needed. Once alerted to a problem, it was fixed quickly. Clean room, and bathroom. Products in the bathroom smelt wonderful!! Free parking on the street - I managed to park immediately outside 2 of 3 nights and almost outside the hotel on the 3rd.

Room 125 was very noisy. Staff stairs and some sort of store room across the way, which had the door open most of the time. There was constant clattering and banging late into the evening and early morning. There was a dog in a neighbouring room one night which added to the noise! Thankfully I am a good sleeper, and I was only there a few nights. My window dressing was a blind stuck to the window which fell down one morning as I was getting ready for my day!! This was fixed by lunchtime which was a good response to the issue, however would have preferred no issues! The location really works for me, and so I’ll make sure to try a different room as and when I stay again. I rate this room badly but I’ll certainly give the hotel another try in the future.

Great location, very nice breakfast, good availability of parking.

Evening meals were nice but limited menu. Plus felt at times a little bit sidelined by some of the serving staff as foreigners in the restaurant which was disappointing. Room spacious but bit plain and dated for the prices charged.
