The Room, balcony and restaurant.

Yes!!!! The decor, paintings, and drawings makes me feel so uncomfortable and scary. The paintings and drawings with animal heads and human body's are so freakish looking with a cult or gothic feel. It's liken to a cultish sacrificing orgy kind of vibe.

Good character. Lots of great amenities

Beds were very small. Room service ended at 11pm and has a rule i can't order in my own food even if their food isn't available

This hotel looks the same as it did when I stayed in it 10 years ago. I was a little disappointed there had been zero upgrades to it especially with the price of the room.

Monarch manager was rude when trying to coordinate brunch reservations.

Location: walkable to Natural History Museum, zoo, art museums, beautiful large park, and light rail. Housekeepers were awesome.

Needs recycling bins. Missed having a coffee maker in the room to have tea at night before bed.

I would like a refund if you ask me and would never book this hotel again. The reasons are: the room smell; the shower is loud; the sink has no space for doing a makeup in the morning; old carpet; they put us in a handicap room and that creep us out.

My room was nice and I truly enjoyed the complementary coffee in the morning and the glass of champagne to greet you when you arrive at the hotel. The staff was extremely kind and helpful at all times

I didn't like the fact that the pool area appeared trashy while I was there. The pool was dirty and there were towels and trash blowing around the entire time.

Valet Parking $35.00 nightly but to be expected at urban hitels

The staff was very warm and helpful from the valet to check in. The pool staff was also extra attentive. I also love the decor of the whole building.

Great staff, very comfy beds and pillows. The shower was awesome. The overall feel of the hotel was opulent and relaxed.

The room we were in was a bit on the small side. A first rate decorator helped with a wall of mirrors.

The quirky decor and the classic elegance were unexpected and most appreciated!

The bed and bedding were great. The wait staff in the restaurant was excellent. Jose was great! Liked the balcony even though it was too cold to use it. Liked the 3 mile radius shuttle service. All the guys were really nice and accomodating. Really appreciated the tip of having Daniel do our airport transportation. It was like having a friend pick you up even though we had never met before.

Would have appreciated a later check out than 1pm with the situation I was in due to delayed flights due to weather. I was told I was NOT an American Express customer so 1pm was the latest I could have. Guy was curt and unpleasant. The Hotel was NOT full and for the price paid it is hard to believe I couldn't have another hour or two.

The location was ideal to walk to the museums and adjoining parks. The hotel's complimentary shuttle service provided easy access to/from eateries. The hotel's Museum District setting is quiet. The staff members were all very courteous and helpful.

No coffee/tea service in the room. The hallway morning coffee/tea service was OK but then nothing for the evening. No microwave in the room.

Breakfast was great, arrived quickly and server was friendly.Car service provided by hotel at no charge (within a 3 mile area) was a great bonus.Will definitely return when back in Houston area.

It’s OK

Room was very run down. Looked something like a cheap apartment would look like. The pricing is high considering the looks of room. The staff was very pleasant to deal with.

Location is the best.

It’s an older hotel, the artwork isn’t that great, it’s not worth the cost. Lots of hype for what I saw. No bathtub in our suite, it’s super dark. The staff was very nice.

The concierge and the valet staff were great. Greeted well.

Not enough lighting in the room. When it’s more than 1 female trying to apply makeup the only place is in the bathroom. Need a full length dressing mirror.
