Stirling Highland Hotel- Part of the Cairn Collection

It was sunny when we left.

Shower would not turn off. Listed allergies in booking form but at breakfast staff not aware and only 1 possible choice to eat.Never had this low level of service in any hotel before.If you have food allergies this hotel is one to stay well away from.

Lovely hotel with an excellent breakfast and great location. Good gym and spa facilities.

central location to explore city centre and travel to surrounding areas

I had not expected to be asked to pay a supplement to use the health suite facilities. I assume when booking a spa hotel which is more expensive than a standard hotel that you can use the facilities as part of your stay.

Room was spacious, even more than I expected and the hotel had nice historical aura.

There was no sound insulation at all, the toilet flush was totally inadequate and obsolete, the bathtub had a "telephone" rigidly placed, not hand-held (!!!). The day cleaning of the room was carried out only after insisting on that. Personnel was polite but somewhat cold.

Second stay as we had such a good first one however....

Booked a special offer..? Stay £250 for 3 nights and NON REFUNDABLE. We thought we would pay £25 charge dog once there.So, its £25 PER NIGHT for your pet and £10 per night parking at the hotel.So the £250 BARGAIN break is technically £305. The Observatory should NOT be advertised as its not accessible to the public due to H&S issues. This was the second time access was denied to us the first stay no senior staff member available.The pet charges, as we understood was £25 not per night and £10 per night car parking charges are sent to you in a long informative email once the booking has been made and paid for and it's NON REFUNDABLE so?There is parking elsewhere in Stirling but the hotel is half way up a steep hill so walking up and down, back n fore is an arduous task especially at 70 plus and our wee dog aged 13.The pet friendly, accessible room at the end of a long corridor had the view of a brick wall within 20 ft of the window and I trade parking area. Quite noisy early morning.This is my first poor review after numerous stays all over UK and Europe.

The location is excellent for visiting Stirling’s top sites and city centre.

Room was clean but tired, and in need of repairs. Thin door inside between rooms made conversations from adjacent room very annoying.

Good location and good in room dog facilities eg dog bed, bowls and treats

Very tired, didn’t reflect a 4 star

Double bed was comfortable but it was in 2 halves and not zipped together

Parking was a problem couldn't get a space and annoyingly there were 2 cars parked straddling bays taking up 2 spaces.Great room.Didn't manage breakfast as was a little delicate from night before.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Stirling

Room was a little tired decor wise, the extra fees for the car park and using the facilities were a little off putting.

Bad

Overcharged £120 at check in then overcharged £120 at check out. Hotel blamed booking.com for dinner add on which actually doesn't exist. Hotel honoured what booking. com had advertised in conjunction with hotel which knew nothing about it!!!! Not pleasant to feel like your trying to get something for nothing. Breakfast wasn't worth getting up for it was cold and poor quality.i asked if mines could be heated in the microwave it came back inedible. First and last time at this hotel.

The pool and the little cups of water at the pool and I liked the stairs going up to the room.i also liked the view from our room to see the pool if it was busy

The fact that it was up a hill when we had to carry heavy luggage.

The room was specious and comfortable. Access to swimming pool is great. Good breakfast in the morning. Central location.

Very steep hill up to the hotel. Bathroom would benefit from modernisation. Additional costs for parking and swimming pool feels expensive to me.

Location , good room size , comfy beds and value for money

No shower , hair wash in shower would off been a nice extra , shower head was very low .

It was in a great location. Plenty car park spaces and nice staff. Spacious and clean.

Uphill which cat be helped. The breakfast wasn’t the best. Not of a great standard.

The hotel was lovely, had a lovely spa and leisure facilities, food was excellent too, and staff were all lovely and friendly

The only real issue I had was that the on button for the tv remote wasn’t working and I forgot to say to the staff when I checked out

Needed a bit of maintenance, wardrobe door off the tracks, bathroom needed a deep clean, very small towels

dinner items not available ran out before 7PM. We had looked at menu before booking and decided pork belly was the best option but not available.Breakfast buffet style but hot food was lukewarm, no marmalade and jam dispenser empty.

Good value except parking (see below)

Staff were not overly friendly on checking inThe parking Fee of £10 was over the top for hotel residents and puts me off using this hotel which I have done for many years.
