The Hotel setting was really nice. Great view over the River Weser & of the road bridge towards Holzminden. The Bedroom was spacious, clean & the shower was powerful & hot. There was plenty of nice sounding food on the menu.

There was an overriding sense of glumness around the place. No-one seemed to be buzzing with enthusiasm. Not really quick on taking my food order or asking if I needed a refill before, during or after my meal. One of the younger Bar staff was smiley but I assumed that she was relatively new or only on a short-term deal...I believe it stemmed from the guy that I assumed was in charge, 'cos I didn't see him smile once & neither did he really acknowledge me.

Very good location and view. Room was small but clean and very quiet. The terrace of the restaurant is very nice because of the beautiful river view. Staff is nice and the breakfast buffet (not included) was good.Overall I can recommend the stay.

Would be nicer to have a double bed instead of a twin bed.

Nice and simple rooms. Beautiful terrace with a view. Good food. But what impressed us most was the friendliness and professionalism of the very young staff. Would return.

The digital light switches are stupid. I needed reading glasses to see where I had to touch on the touch panel to turn lights on. Good old fashioned light switches are a perfect user friendly technology that only digital fools think can be improved on.The stairs were steep and long. For a new three storey hotel not to have a lift is dumb. Every old person staying there struggled with the stairs, and said so to me, a fellow sufferer.Some of the young female staff were unwelcoming and unfriendly. I was made to feel a nuisance. I was unimpressed. By contrast one bright and brisk young man was far better at customer relations than his female colleagues. Taking care of your guests is your job, not some big favor you reluctantly do them. The attitude needs to improve.German hotels that still persist with the old fashioned feather down pillows are behind the times. Feather down pillows squash too easily and fail to support the head. Get proper pillows that support the head.The walls were stark and mostly pictureless. Not cosy. Get a few pictures.

The view of the room with the balcony was amazing! It is definitely worth the money to upgrade it. So did the dinner. And the staffs were also very kind, even though we were the rarely Asia faces here in Holzminden, they were still willing to communicate with us in English.

No fridge in the room.
