Paradise Point Resort And Spa

The location was great. The property is large and could be beautiful.

Sadly, there was quite a bit wrong with our visit. We arrived at our room after checking in & there was a pile of dirty sheets & an ugly spill, including dirty q-tips. Our bike tour was canceled due to light rain. We tried to play golf and the gal told us to make a reservation, there was no one on the course. Trying to get a hold of someone at the front desk is impossible. They avoid you once you check-in. I was trying to get someone to come clean up the spill and take the pile of sheets away. We needed housekeeping every day, they would come some days and pass others. When they did come, they arrived at 9am, we were still getting going. The property could use a on site management and think about their customers.

The location on the island enhanced the mini vacation feel of our weekend away. We could easily bike along the beach and to local coffee/breakfast spots - a big plus. Staff is very friendly. The market on site is convenient. Room was very comfortable.

Restaurant on site was ok - not great. Expensive, but it was summer in SoCal, so...

I liked the size of the room and it's location next to the lagoon and lobby. The pool was lovely. the staff were welcoming, cheerful and helpful.

There are two restaurants on site. The first one we visited (for breakfast) had us standing in line for a prolonged period. There was one counter person working to fulfill orders while other staff stood about not doing much. The next day we visited the second restaurant for breakfast. Like night and day! We were seated promptly. Great menu selections and food. Excellent service from the staff.

The place is old, bad mold odor everywhere in all 5 rooms of our group. Stagg was super rude and non cordial. Check in time is super late - 4pm. And STILL our room was not ready!! Waited another 1.5 hours and missed all afternoon. Be prepared to pay an extra $50 "resort fee" for ... Nothing. I mean absolutely nothing. The maps are hard to use and the resort is missing tons of signage so you can tell where to go to various room numbers or blocks. Map is hard to read and uses small fonts. Google maps is not helpful either. Prices are higher than a 5 star report anywhere else in San Diego. We went with 5 couples, and NO ONE was happy. And NO ONE wants to ever come back there!! Big time PASSSSSS!!

The grounds were beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed the pools and the restaurants. The location was great.

The sheets on one of the beds were terrible! They were very pilly and rough. We asked for them to be replaced. Either they ignored our request or they just put on another set of pilled sheets. Very disappointing considering the cost of the room. There was also a repair being done to a different room that went on for over 30 minutes at 11:00 at night! Sounded like someone cutting through and banging on pipes. VERY loud and there was no way to sleep through it or even drown it out with the tv.

The location was excellent.

The bar and grill customer service could be better. Long wait, but it was busy. But once seated the server never came by. After 15 minutes we had to go ask for a server. Dirty water glass, it had food in it. Food did not seem freshly cooked. We never went back after that. Parking fee was also a joke, $90 extra to park my care by my room.

The rooms were spacious.

Service was very slow.

Location is good if you want to spend time at the mission bay and SeaWorld. Rooms are spacious.

Restaurants are very pricey. First night we ordered food to our room we paid over 100$ but we did not get what we paid for. They charge you extra $ for reserved parking which does not make any sense. There were benches in our patio and they are very dirty . We did not sit in them . The shampoo was out . I told to front desk to refill it . Floor was very dirty . I asked them the mop and they came after I reminded them2 times .

The idea of this resort is really cool however the grounds and the rooms are not maintained. The rooms are dirty and the grounds are dirty. The first night in our room I grabbed the ice bucket to get ice and took the lid off of it to find it was covered in mold. I then went to the ice machine to find that it is open to the road with no door or covering, there’s trash floating in the water under where the ice falls (does it recycle this water) and the machine itself has mold, slime and green grime all over it. I called the front desk to complain only to have them bring me broken plastic buckets with no lid or extra bags and didn’t even ask for the moldy bucket that I had. Never once over the next few days of our stay did we receive a new ice bucket or new plastic bag to get ice in but really the ice machine probably shouldn’t have been used anyway. The Barefoot restaurant was below average quality of food, nothing tasted very good and it was overly priced. The main pool is decent but the other pools are dirty and not well maintained.
