Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel By IHG

The location was great - right on the beach and centrally located to walk to shops , restaurants and bars . Ocean drive was only a 15 minute walk away . The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Shout out to the bellman Luis , who was very knowledgeable about the hotel and room amenities, plus gave us some good recommendations on where to eat . Rooms were comfortable and clean and we had a nice balcony .

The noise - our room had an industrial size aircon unit attached to the outer wall and it was very noisy listening to it firing up both in the room and on the terrace all day and night .

Excellent, great hotel

The location was excellent. The pool and the property were very pleasant.

Bathroom was tiny. The beach area was crowded and the view of the the ocean was non existent because of the large sun shades n the front row.

Rooms were noisy, beds were small and uncomfortable. The room next door woke us up at 4am and kept us awake until 6am. This was reported to reception but they just said sorry and shrugged their shoulders. I will not be returning….

Good location and I've stayed at other Kimpton hotels, so expected comparable quality of accommodation and service.

The hotel should have indicated they were undergoing refurbishment and I would have opted to go elsewhere. I think the ethics of not doing so are questionable. The carpet smelled of dirty feet and housekeeping merely used spray to cover over the odour. The safe was located above the wardrobe, only accessible by someone over 6 feet tall, which is absurd and impractical for going to the beach (see photo). The latch on the door was not securely fastened and was never repaired despite my having reported it twice. The toilet seat was not securely attached, despite my having reported it. Room 212 is in a terrible location near the elevators, so I could hear it ping every time someone got out.

Very good location, near everything. We got the family room that gave us plenty of space. Comfortable good size beds. Helpful staff. Free coffee in the morning and free wine in late afternoon. Small bathrooms, but it didn’t matter for us. Would stay here again.

The room was comfortable and spacious enough. It had a TV, desk, and mini fridge which was convenient. They cleaned it really well and even gave me a room plant pal! The lobby, restaurant, pool and outdoor spaces were just gorgeous. They had DJs both inside and outside playing really good music. They were undergoing some renovations but it wasn't any big inconvenience. The 'spa' was just a little room near the pool but I was able to get a very nice massage then go straight to the pool - talk about relaxing!

The bathroom sink was a little small; but you can tell they were working with limited space in the old bones of this hotel and it was still usable. The AC stayed in the 60s the whole time and I couldn't adjust it when I wanted to, but I like it cold anyway.
