The Pierre New York, A Taj Hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel during my trip to New York and overall had a great experience. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around the city and enjoy nearby attractions. The room was spacious and comfortable, though the twin beds were a little smaller than expected. Most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially the concierge team and the restaurant staff, who made the stay feel warm and welcoming.

Unfortunately, my experience with one of the reception staff, Britney, was disappointing. She came across as rude and unhelpful, which stood out compared to the otherwise excellent service. I believe additional training and a stronger focus on guest respect would help align her service with the hotel’s standards.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom toiletries were top grade.

Throughout, the staff made errors. Our checkin was difficult -- the receptionist said we had only reserved one room when in fact, we had reserved two. She told me I should contact booking.com to see what could be done. When I confirmed our 2-rooms reservation, she then found it and said the "system" had gotten it wrong. Room service made an error and brought us plate and silverware for one instead of two. And door staff told us the bar was open until 2am when it took last orders at 11:30 and closed at midnight. Too many errors for a 5-star hotel!

Great location and facility

Hallways could use updating

Fabulous location right next to central park. Front desk and elevator staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean and spacious.

For a hotel at this price point there were several bumps that should have been smoothed over. I called down for water bottles and was told they only provide them after 5 pm (though the staff member helpfully suggested I go to the fitness center and help myself to water from the fridge there). My friend wasnt feeling well and the concierge said they didnt have staff to go a few blocks to CVS to pick up meds. The room decor was a bit dated and there were no tea or coffee facilities.

The main Bar is lacking a little ambience..

The hotel and staff were impeccable! My room was perfect and quiet as the staff had asked my preference for a particular room when I checked in. The restaurant in the hotel was wonderful and the food was excellent and the staff very professional and accommodating. The staff was very friendly and accommodating with any questions or requests I made.

It is a great location and the rooms are spacious

It is old and tired and very very noisy. The staff is lukewarm in terms of their attention to guests and the hotel feels cavernous and past its prime. If you don’t have a view room it’s very dark inside.

Loved the location, room was spacious and comfortable, hotel is lovely.
