Great location, but up the hill from main street, so quieter. Great dinner and nice breakfasts. Excellent, attentive staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Have washer/dryer on location to do laundry. Will come again!

There was nothing to eat at all when we came down for a breakfast at 9:10.The room looked a bit run-down.

I loved this quaint property. It was literally just up the hill from the train station and main street, The staff was friendly, breakfast was included and excellent included eggs your way.

The room and breakfasts were very nice. The breakfast had made to order eggs upon request and I enjoyed the friendly service. I appreciated that the owner/manager knew the hiking trails very well. I bounced off him my intended hikes each day and his input was very helpful for a first time hiker to the Berner Oberland.

It's not that I didn't like the uphill perspective of the hotel. It was a little tiring after hiking all day which I did. Don't let that curtail you from booking a room here. Almost anywhere you stay in Grindelwald there will be a hill.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I arrived very late but the owners waived the late arrival fee for me - i didn't ask for this but they offered it to help me out. Very kind people

The way up to the hotel might be too steep for some people so take in mind about this.

The location of Hotel Alpina is ideal. It is very close to the central train station, but unlike other lodging options in the area it is very quiet and peaceful. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable which makes a significant difference. The breakfast is also above average in my experience. Note the many ways in which the interior is designed and decorated. The owners clearly take pride in their establishment.

Room and location were excellent. I loved that there was a lounge with games, even if we didn't have a chance to enjoy it.LOVED sitting on the blacony and enjoying the view, including watching paragliders.

The one downside I recall is that since the bathroom door was translucent, one couldn't turn on the light at night without lighting up the rest of the room.The restaurant was ok, but I feel like they made it sound better than it was (encouraging us to make sure to make a reservation).

The hotel is walking distance to everything and very convenient to use as a base station to anywhere in the Jungfrau region with stunning views of the mountains from your own balcony. Breakfast was great each morning and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located next to the train station.
