I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel-Restaurant Seegarten-Marina on Christmas Eve 2025. The hotel and restaurant were friendly and accommodating. My guestoom was spacious, clean, comfortable and had a balcony that looked up to the castle. The WIfI connection was strong. The Breakfast Buffet was equipped with a variety of hot and cold options including sliced ham, turkey, fish, cheese, coffee, tea, juice, bread, eggs, cereals, fruit and more. Christmas Eve dinner was superb. It was comforting to see that even local people frequent this restaurant. This certainly adds value.

Everything was great!The location is excellent and the staff were very friendly. The only downside was that we stayed during a very hot period (over 30°C), and the room we booked didn’t have air conditioning — we had assumed it was a standard feature. Unfortunately, no one informed us that fans were available upon request.

Beautiful location, close to Interlaken but not so crowded. Good cost benefit

The breakfast was included but were told to have limited portions in front of other people by the owner and not to any other people except us. We were not attended but everyone else did in the dining area. We felt discriminated due to different color. I would not recommend if you’re a color person.

Nice location, convenient restaurant attached. Very kind staff allowed us to park our motorcycles right out front.

Room is simple for the cost, access is a bit difficult. But location makes up for that.

We had a wonderful stay at the Seegarten Hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was clean, spacious, and offered a stunning lake view. The breakfast selection was excellent, and the food at the hotel’s restaurant was truly exceptional. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Spiez.

Room getting out-dated.

The location of this hotel is truly special — amazing view, great access to the lake, boats, and walking paths!Our room faced the fields; it was very clean, stylish, and had a beautiful balcony.The hotel restaurant wasn’t particularly impressive, but we had a nice breakfast there.The staff were genuinely kind and caring, especially the lady at the reception (unfortunately, I don’t remember her name).Considering the limited options in Spiez, this hotel is definitely one of the best choices!

Great location but rooms do not have any phone.

Indifferent attitude of the front office:We are senior citizens (64 & 62 years old) and had booked an AC room about 3 months in advance with a special request for rooms accessible by elevator. At the time of check-in, we were offered a non AC room with elevator access alternatively we were given the option of climbing the stairs with all the heavy luggage to our AC room. The front office person didn't even agree to show us the Non AC room which was being offered.

The view is amazing, the cleanliness of everything was good, the staff very helpful and friendly

Best location. Very clean room with beautiful view from the balcony. Easy parking near hotel. Friendly staff. Spiez is a very beautiful small town.

Breakfast was very basic. The restaurant was average.

The location is excellent, right on the waterfront, just a few buildings down from the ferry and literally across the street from the castle. It's a walkable town so you can get to the local grocery store in about a 10-15 minute walk. The room was big and had a lovely patio. The breakfast buffet was really nice.

I had a pretty odd experience checking-in: there was nobody at the font desk and when I asked for help from someone at the restaurant, they were extremely rude. I had another off-putting interaction with one of the desk attendants the next day as well. I didn't realize this hotel doesn't have air-conditioning and we sweat through the night, even with the window wide open.

The best aspect of this hotel is its location and breakfast. You enjoy a lovely view during breakfast. Victoria at the reception was efficient and kind.

The price of the property was not justified by the stay. The room was fairly okay, but it felt very suffocating, especially during high temperatures, which are quite rare in Switzerland. When I traveled, the temperature reached 26 degrees, and initially, the room was uncomfortably warm. However, it cooled down later at night.

Location, comfortable room with lots of shelves, places to put things in the bathroom. Restaurant was exceptional— best meals we’ve eaten in Switzerland. We ate there 3 nights in a row. Between 2 couples, we had steak, lamb chops, veal with mushroom gravy, white fish and venison. Everything was top notch. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The view and the modern rooms

Air conditioning did not work even with doors and windows closed. Did not begin fan upon request. Denied dinner device for takeaway at 5pm when pizza was available from 4-10pm. Breakfast service took way too long got there at 11am and had to ask 3 different wait staff for our check so we didn’t miss the train and got chastised for asking during “rush”.

The hotel is beautifully located beside the marina harbor and there is a direct view of the Niesen mountain peak. It was warm when I stayed here so I could take breakfast and eat dinner on the outdoor terrace which was so picturesque. The lakeside trail is very accessible if you want to walk to neighboring towns along the water. The Spiezer winery is just across the street from the hotel as is the Castle. Nicely located for touring sites in Spiez.

Nice view, spacious room. Bus stop and boat dock is just 5 min walk away, and so is the castle. Nice play area and lakeside walking promenade nearby. Very good restaurant with huge menu and availability till late hours.

Some of the F&B staff was quite cold and unresponsive, experience wasn’t great. Breakfast was limited and a bit disappointing. Room facilities in general are a bit outdated although still functional. Bus frequency to train station is hourly, and that’s the main alternative to the otherwise uphill walk to station.
