Everything from the moment we arrived to the moment we left was spectacular. Our room was amazing and the service was the best I have ever experienced. The views are breathtaking. The amenities from in room to their gin cart was next level. Likely the nicest boutique hotel I have ever or will ever stay in. It has an amazing reputation and still exceeded my expectations.

Bursting with amazing art. Lovely view down to the ocean. Staff are warm and welcoming and couldn’t possibly do enough for you. Food is excellent.

Location was a bit out of the way.

From booking to arrival and the time during your stay, Ellerman house staff make everything special and work hard to ensure you not only have a great stay with them, but also enjoy the many attractions around Cape Town. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We will be back, the entire experience is simply world class.

Exceptional experience! The hotel looks like a castle, with so much art in it, manager told me they are the biggest private art collectors in Africa. Location is outstanding, interrupted views over the ocean and the amazing Cape Town’s sunset. Staff is wonderful, very helpful and attentive. I had a special request for candles and rose petals in the room on our arrival, and they made it so perfect and special. Wine cellar is so out of the ordinary, they impersonated a wine opener. Bar and restaurant are very good, and breakfast is exceptional! I asked for late check out and they gave it for free until 3pm, and I was very impressed that they even cleaned the room, as if I was going to stay one more night. Probably second best hotel I’ve ever been to (and I travel a lot, to many different countries). I will come back for sure!

Generally great staff attitude . Exceptional art throughout property. Great wine storage facility worth visit. Gin bar nice touch.

Distance from beachfront requires transport. At this price point disappointed with minor details like: Delay in secured front door being unlocked on start of visit not very welcoming. Minor issues like faulty cupboard door requiring maintenance, desk lamp switch dangerous short, poor communication re shuttle to Airport with appropriate vehicle. On several occasions requested suitable vehicle to handle excess luggage but on the day unsuitable vehicle sent and resorted to backup. Probably being fussy but expected exceptional service!

Superb location, lovely property, and staff were the best.

Bits didn’t work. we had no hot water to our room one day which caused ructions when trying to go out. Door didn’t shut properly, latch on Gents insecure….

Perfect boutique hotel, classy. An oasis along the beautiful Atlantic Ocean.

I hope they have replaced Mervyn the doorman or else sent him on a customer service training course. He is quite rude and unwelcoming to guests.

Fantastic choice and varieties for breakfast and the option of outdoor terrace with wonderful views was greatly appreciated
