York Cove Hotel

Good location on the bay in George Town. Requires a car to get to the downtown area where restaurants can be found. Convenient for penguin tours in Low Head.

Very well appointed, clean and comfortable suite. Booked it for the location to attend a function at the bowls club. Would definitely stay again.

It had a lot of space and a big comfy bed

It was uncomfortable to get into the room trough a cellar. Had a weird feeling being nearly underground. Pool empty, restaurant felt all neglected.

Great layout and large apartment. Amazing view and walking distance to town centre

Facilities are getting a little worn. Entrance to apartments pretty ordinary.Air conditioning needs looking at, unit in main bedroom noisy and lounge room unit doesn't work well enough for the large area. Luckily we had mild weather so we just left them off.

Enjoyed our stay, if only for one night. It was nice and close to what we wanted to see. The unit was spacious and comfortable, bathroom and bed great.

Room apartment with two bathrooms and all the amenities we needed. Comfortable beds and nice balcony with glass for shelter from the breeze - perfect for an afternoon drink . Lovely and clean and cleaning lady super friendly and helpful.

No facilities operating at the site so had a semi abandoned vibe. No restaurants on that side of the water so either a walk or drive around to the shops. Really awful smell as you entered the side after hours door- seemed to be undergoing a renovation downstairs?

The cleaning staff were fantastic and friendly. The room was really spacious and very comfortable.

The building owner had let the place go. We had a view of a redundant pool that was a mess. The leaseholders had asked for him to upgrade the hotel many times but he hadn't done anything.

It was on the cove, lovely position on the water. The room was massive there was a gym if you wanted. No complaints regarding the apartment.

No elevators. If you have any kind of disability it would be incredibly difficult to get two large heavy suitcases down the stairs where our room was. Thankfully we were not located upstairs. Not sure if it was noted anywhere when I booked. We entered down the ramp via the gym exit where a trainer thankfully opened the door for us. Tried to enter via the pool door and thought that might have been the easiest way but the key did not open the apartment door, so one of us went via the stairs to open that door from within. On exiting we left via the gym door. Totally unacceptable to have anyone trying to navigate those stairs with heavy suitcases. Shame the restaurant wasn’t open. We did not see any staff. Went to the Low Head lighthouse on our way back to Hobart. I’ve not got photos of our apartment but no complaints about our accommodation 10/10.

There was no staff. The unit was big and fairly comfortable, but you had to access it via firedoors, a flight of stairs (no lift). There was no restaurant, nor anywhere to have a drink (unlike what is shown in the pictures of this place). Ift seems as if they only now provide accommodation but nothing else. The ad you show for this place is very misleading.

Pool was not available. Neither was any facilities such as restaurant. No reception. Just fend for yourself.

Room was OK, for the price the bathroom required grout cleaning etc in the shower.

Well. There was no reception area, closed, the pool was drained, the restaurant was closed, the pool surrounds were overrun with weeds and long grass. Access to our room was for a key in a lock box at the entry which was not well signed at all. WE had to ring the number to find how to gain entry. Answered by someone not on site. Was told we should have received an email with the details. WE did not receive this at all. Overall it appeared the hotel was deserted, overrun and has gone into receivership, or broke.

I could park the car outside the building. The appartment was nice. Had a view on the chanel.

They wrote that one has to check in before 17.30h. So I arrived already at 4.45h. No one was there. Then I checked my mails and found out that I had to check in myself. It didn‘t work. Couldn‘t open the key safe. After a phone call with the owner I received another code for another box. When I entered the building I felt like in a ghost house. No lift. I had to carry up my suitcase to the first floor. The restaurant was closed as well.

Large room - lots of space for luggage, spacious bathroom, space around bed, a couch & coffee table, desk and table with chairs.Toaster, kettle and microwave available.

The freezer in the fridge didn't work. Some crockery items were missing (only one bowl, one mug) and some items needed washing before use. Limited information about TV channels & TV reception.No reception area / staff seen - emailed information re access.

Pool hasn’t been serviceable in donkeys years, restaurant been shut for a long time , overhaul the property is quite dated

Arrived after hours. Attempted calling the phone number provided nil answer. No water bottle provide to drink and could not buy outside due to late arrival. Call in the phone number provided and left voice mail nil answer. Used water from bathroom tap to drink.very disappointed

At least a bottle of water for those who travel from long distance and arrives late. Response to the phone call.

The room was large and clean but there was no one there. No staff. No people. Very scary. Not well maintained facilities. Looked deserted. In the basement overlooking a pool that was covered up and filthy. Restaurants upstairs was closed but everything still in there. Looked like it was closing down. The room however was fine
