Discovery Coron formerly Club Paradise Palawan

This is a real paradise island - soft white sand, blue seas, abundant wildlife.The staff are extremely friendly - the cleaning staff in particular went out of their way to surprise and delight.The Philippine second restaurant (Sinag) had the tastiest local cooking we have found anywhere in the country.For an island resort (always challenging) I was impressed that the Aircon was super cold, the shower strong and hot and the WiFi excellent everywhere I went. You dont appreciate those things until they are absent.We had a (cheaper) room on the Sunrise side of the island - it was large, modern and clean.

Service was sometimes very slow.Activities on the island are somewhat limited, but the available tours tended to be all fully booked. We were told we were booked on the snorkelling with Dugongs tour for our 3rd day but when we went back to the dive centre seemed we had been bumped off by online bookings and there was no further availability for the rest of our stay which was a huge disappointment. [BOOK AHEAD!]Prices (food, drinks) are not low, but also not ridiculous given that everything has to be ferried by boat.

The property is clearly a 90s resort without much renovation. There was construction details that should be taken care of in the future: the door of the bedroom was difficult to close, it was swollen because of the humidity -i guess-. There was no baseboard across the entire bedroom, and almost all corners were off square. The faucets were in ok condition, but they were installed in a sloppy way. Also, the food. No bueno. Almost everything was bland.

Really enjoyed the resort facilities, activities and overall vibe.

Slow food service and choices of food.

It worth what you paid for. Privacy. Wherein you're only with the guests of the resort. It's like living the island on your own. They also offer some island activities that guests may like. Maybe the room is not spacious enough because of the size of the bed, but comfort is felt while taking the rest. If you like to try/test the food, the resort something has enough to offer, enough for those who don't want to eat a lot, but not for those who want to eat a lot.As a reptile hater, at least those reptiles that roam around the island are harmless, and nothing to worry about.

One area that I think needs to be developed is how passengers aboard/alight the boat on the island. Having more men assisting is not enough, there has to be an improved ladder or alike so passengers can ride/alight the boat with ease, especially the elderly ones. Maybe something like at the port/s where it is easy to aboard/alight the boat.

The staff is this facilities' gem-- truly exceptional. 2nd is the location and amenities. However, I feel that for the money, the food is sub par. I expected a large selection of fresh fruit-- nil to nothing. At one dinner, overcooked chinese food.

Location was outstanding being on an isolated island and the staff were super friendly.

Communication of times of meals, events, etc.. When we arrived we got a generic welcome letter which was inaccurate as far as the restaurants. They never let us know they switched to buffet dinners at a single restaurant instead of ala cart and we had to ask every day where dinner was. Simple fix would be to have a daily schedule with events and meal times posted in the lobby.

The location is fantastic, as you are on a private island. The snorkeling area just off the beach is fantastic. You can choose from a variety of activities from kayaking to snorkeling to relaxing. There's table tennis, chess and soccer as options as well. The pool area was kept clean and welcoming. We stayed in an oceanview room, which was on the ground floor and had minmal viewing of the ocean. I'd recommend one of the beachside villas instead. The bed was comfortable. We were present for a typhoon and the safety measures were amazing. Breakfast had a good variety.

As your on an island, everything is costly. Due to the typhoon there was the inability to leave the island, and we were forced to stay longer. Despite the ability to find lower costs online or through their own website, the cost for the extra stay was high. I requested 3 times to discuss it with a manager and was redirected each time. This was disappointing after everything else had been so good. So, as long as you're not stuck there or looking to discuss financial matters with management, this place was amazing.

Relaxing ambiance with an unobstructed beach view. Large and clean rooms with well-maintained toiletries-Delicious food (slightly pricey but generous portions).-Warm and accommodating staff who are always smiling and attentive.-Smooth transfers from the airport to the hotel and back.

Far from town

Beautiful secluded resort with amazing staff and great amenities.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy majority of what they offered due to the high rain and bad weather.

*During arrival, welcome drinks were given to foreign guests, and they didn't offer me only until I asked *I gave a heads up during my reservation that im a person with disability but they failed to secure my safety, and I slipped. I am now back in Europe, and i am still in pain . It ruined my entire holiday in the Philippines. I was not able to do any snorkeling or island hopping because of pain. It also affected my family vacation because they needed to care for me* During check-out, those ladies by the reception were very snobbish!*Discovery Coron should REIMBURSE my full payment as it just ruined my and my family vacation. My family needed to help me to stand up and walk!* not recommending this resort! It's not worth my payment.* accommodation needs a renovation* bathroom not comfortable * Resort should pay attention to the safety of people with disabilities and older people *I hope Discovery Coron management will have the kindness to reach out to me to settle this with me. It's affecting my everyday life here in Europe and my work. They should do something about it!

The friendly and accommodating staff, the beauty of the island, the delicious food, the stunning beach with all it has to offer tourists, and the resort’s strong commitment to sustainability and protecting the island’s environment and local wildlife.

The resort could improve by investing in higher-quality mattresses.

From start to finish, from the manager down wvery member of staff made every guests feel like a VIP. Communication with the property throughout was exemplery. Staff were most attentive in supplying any extras such as cappucino, drinks etc no additional cost. The sunset villa was like living in a paradise. The setting was idealic, open air with the ocean barely feet away.

Absolutely nothing.

The island is so beautiful. Because of the location, I felt that the resort was exclusive to a few families and privileged guests. The snorkelling experience was exceptional. I did not have to go deep to see a black tip shark, schools of parrot fish, angelfish, sea turtles, gigantic jacks and other gorgeous sea creatures. The beach was immaculately all- natural and clean. Sunsets were awesome. Thank you to the General Manager, leisure, housekeeping, restaurant and transport staff of Discovery, Coron.

There were activities to do. My family and good friends did not have to leave Discovery, Coron.

Location is great but very far from the town

That there was no night activities like fire dance or band singing/dancing.

It was beautiful the private island was immaculate the bats were beautiful #ilovegeorge

This is a microisland that is away from anything else. It's gorgeous and there are a lot of water activities to do on the white sandy beaches and clear warm blue waters. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and air conditioned well. We stayed in a sunset villa and were able to just walk out our front door to our own secluded beach area. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Always greeting and willing to help. My wife had a bad sunburn and one of the staff saw and went to get aloe vera plant leaves for her. Another staff member saw us paddling around looking for sea turtles and he offered to guide us to some and even pulled us around on a booey. They also did full service delivering our heavy luggages to our rooms.

These are NOT bad things! This is just a heads up for folks traveling to the island* One of the main parts of the resort was under construction while we were there so the bar wasn't available (there was a temporary beach hut). * It's run by monitor lizards, they are huge and they are everywhere. They aren't aggressive and don't really bother you but they are not shy either. They will just walk into the restaurants. It's fun to see and most people enjoyed them but if you are easily uncomfortable around reptiles, just be aware. * It's also known for the evening flight of the bats. The island is FILLED with bats in every tree. Again, they don't bother you, but they do scream early in the morning when they are coming back. * Getting on and off the island isn't easy. Boats have to be scheduled and unless you are on an excursion or leaving, otherwise it can be expensive. So you can't just paschal to town or anything.

Our stay at Discovery Coron was absolutely amazing. I proposed to my now fiancé during our stay and support I received from staff was more than I could have ever asked for. They were so accommodating and made it a truly amazing experience. The island is beautiful, we did the island hopping and sunset cruise and it was amazing. I can’t thank everyone who supported enough. Would highly recommend and thank you again.

The beach, the staff, the amenities and the food. ☺️

The bathroom's exhaust system is inadequate, allowing odors to seep into the bedroom. The overall cleanliness of the accommodation did not meet my expectations, given the price we paid. Housekeeping was average at best; despite requesting a cleaning service, the quality of work was disappointing. Notably, they failed to remove hair intentionally placed in one spot to make cleaning easier. Additionally, the hotel’s tour packages were excessively expensive, prompting us to book external tours instead. A more affordable option, such as group tours, would be a great improvement.

Great location

Resort is undergoing construction work adding new apartments while neglecting those already in place that require at minimum a lick of paintFood is poor to say the least. "Catch of the Day" is on the menu (Fish and/or crab) but not available during our 6 night stay despite the island being surrounded by fishing boats and villages within spitting distance?!?! Requested some sliced banana fried with salt for a desert and was charged double that (P900) of a desert option on the menu (P450)?!?!Left feeling that we were fleeced by a resort that only prioritizes revenue and has no consideration for its guests and repeat businessWe will not be going back and will not recommend this resort to friends and family

The resort was built to take advantage of the surrounding lush environment. We were amazed with the wildlife and birds (bats) in the property. The beaches and snorkeling were excellent.

Difficult to land and depart when waves are turbulent.
