- Excellent
- Perfect location for exploring the New Forest. Beautiful public areas inside the hotel especially the restaurant and bar area which looked out over the terrace and garden. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food! Had dinner for two out of the three nights of our stay which was very enjoyable. Breakfast was really good value, two courses all in, with the B&B ratewould suggest investment in a barista coffee machine at some point as filter coffee is currently the only option. Overall we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at this charming hotel.
- Lovely place to stay, only thing, would have been easier for instructions to put the heating on as got a bit cold in the evening. Also cobwebs on ceiling near bed.
Cons -
- Towel rail in bathroom was on and hot permanently
- The rooms that my party had been allocated were very tired and the furnishings a little scruffy. Lovely size and comfortable and clean but compared to the public areas, the decor was really disappointing. I hope that they are part of a program of upgrading in due course. We are however very grateful to the staff for being sensitive to the requirement for our rooms to be as close to the stairs as possible, due to the mobility issues of one of our party.
