Pros +

  • The location is fantastic having a small lake right in front of your bedroom is truly special. It's such a peaceful place; you can barely hear the motorway, which makes it even more relaxing. This was my second time staying there, and definitely not the last! Although I didnt try the breakfast, I did have lunch and dinner at the restaurant this time, and everything was excellent. The menu is small, but every dish was delicious, well portioned, and fairly priced. The room was also great. Some have been recently renovated, which is nice. My only suggestion would be to add a glass door to the shower without it, the water tends to get all over the bathroom floor, which could be a bit risky, especially for older guests. Free parking is a great plus.
  • We stayed in the water lodge with a balcony. The room was very nice, large, bright, clean with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. The air conditioning was perfectly working and we appreciated nice touches like complimentary water bottles, shower gel and shampoo. The balcony is a lovely extra too as it looks over a pond and part of a woodland area which connects to many cycling trails. This was the main reason why we booked here, as we wanted to cycle around Flevoland to see the wonderful tulip fields. So, for us, this solution was absolutely perfect! The restaurant was utterly pleasant, with friendly and welcoming staff and good food. We loved the deco of the place, especially the tables and chairs.

Cons -

  • To be honest, for us it was perfect as it ticked all the boxes and met all our needs. We would definitely stay here again, if we had the same intention of visiting the region and surrounding areas via bike or car, however, if you rely on different means of transport, this might not be the best option. In regard to the room itself, if I had to point out something that, I think, could be improved, it would be: there are no USB ports to charge your phone/laptop (so you need to make sure you bring one as well as an adaptor if you are coming from the UK, for example) - you can though buy one at the gift shop in the restaurant; secondly, the night lamps are stylistically cute and match the other hole vibe, however not very practical if you want to read in bed, as they dont adjust their position.
