- I have been coming to the homestead for over forty years and I very much approve of the recent rehabilitation it has undergone. My concern on my recent stay only two nights was that my room was never serviced in spite of three calls for service I made. That is not the Homstead I ever experienced before.
- The Homestead is a beautiful resort so tastefully decorated. The rooms are comfortable as advertised. Woody's Restuarant is a great spot for a meal on the property.
- Great people, lots of things to do, plenty of places to eat.

- The heater didn’t work on our sun porch. The hotel did their best to get it to work. Unfortunately, it took most of our stay to fix it so we couldn’t use the room. Outside temps were 20 degrees.

the location is beautiful
The room was run-down. One of the sinks was blocked and one of the outlets didn't work (which had clearly been discovered, because the lamp that went into that outlet had been unplugged). There was hair in the shower. The water pressure was pretty weak. The provided toiletries were mediocre. Cold air was flowing through the windows and balcony door. The heater was loud and the walls were very thin. A couple was scream-arguing in the room next to us for 3 hours on our first night and we could hear every word like it was a TV show. Everything is over-priced and nothing is complimentary. Why did we pay $39 a night for parking when we had to park 200 yards away from the hotel and schlump our own bags to and from the lot? Why was ice skating $36 per person for a tiny, bumpy rink with no music or other amenities to make it fun? Etc. etc.
