We got a beautiful room with breathtaking views and the people at the reception are extremely friendly and helpful. Amazing hotel with a nice buffet. We ate on the patio facing the Lake. Just gorgeous.

Nothing just perfect place

Location and lake view.

Love the location in Stansstad with easy access to the train, boat, and bus services. Nice comfortable rooms with a great bed complete with illuminated room wide panoramic lake scene. The deck is a nice place to relax. Excellent location for travel to Stanserhorn, Pilatus, Rigi, and Lucerne. City swimming pool park is lakeside also and only 200 meters away to the East. The affiliated pizza restaurant with lakeside dining was fantastic and not too pricey.

Great service overall during our 4 day stay. The one staff member that was disappointing was the person in charge of maintaining the breakfast buffet. She does not pay attention to the overall status of the buffet and its stations effectively. Day 1 buffet was ok but on day 2 there were no plates just deep bowls and the fresh fruit basket had a smashed plum with mold evident around its entire base. Trays were allowed to get near empty without being refilled till every scrap was gone making selection limited. On day 3 we had our coffee and while seating saw a full sized tray that had nothing but a scrap of lettuce on it, this was the cheese tray. At the same time the buffet employee was walking the room with a list making sure we were all hotel guests. She got to our table and after I confirmed our room I asked if there is supposed to be cheese at the buffet. Yes she said and went immediately to get a fresh tray from the refrigerator where it was pre sliced and awaiting delivery. 15 minutes later as I was using the self serve coffee machine in the lobby I noticed a plastic tray laying on the table in front of the machine. I figured out it was the lid to cover the beans on the machine so I put it there then made a cup of coffee. I walked away for a moment then returned to get my cafe as the machine was stopping and the buffet employee was there with a bag of coffee beans. Apparently she was in the process of putting more beans in the machine and her dramatic exasperated gesture and hands clutching the side of her face let me know she was annoyed with me for interfering. Glad to see maintenance here but the bin of beans was more than 1/2 full so timing here wasn't as critical as the buffet that was still going on. Was making a 2nd cup of coffee for my wife and the machine ran out of water. She was there but unresponsive and silent to my report of this fact. I would stay here again but I'm hoping for better service at breakfast.

I loved the view - it was better than I expected. The room was great and its amenities good too, there was a good amount provided. It is quite accessible with either a bus ride or 7-10 minutes walk from the nearest train station. A good breakfast provided was also great in helping start my day.

NIL - This was a great place for a simple stay.

Just a magical view of the lake from the window—at least from our room. The room is large. Nearby, there is an Italian restaurant with a nice view. Downstairs, there is another restaurant. There is also a small shop nearby. But there are no cafés or any entertainment in the vicinity. There was a free breakfast, nothing special.

It’s a rather remote area, and walking to the center or any other place is quite a long and interesting journey. Without a car, it’s very difficult. Overall, for some people, this could be a plus rather than a minus.

Great hotel, good sized rooms, friendly staff and great location. Its right on the water, the train station is a 5 minute walk and only 15 minutes to Lucerne. Very quiet area, nice to take a stroll by the water.

We loved everything about The Winkel as we nicknamed it. We took the train from Zurich to Stansstad and walked a few minutes to the hotel. It was very easy to find. The woman at the front desk was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the room, the views, the comfortable bed, the fabulous breakfasts every morning. We also had dinner in the hotels restaurant one evening and Roman was excellent as our waiter. We took walks around the lake, found shops to buy snacks and meaningful trinkets. Our room was practically a suite and we loved the space!

We had no dislikes at all. Everything was phenomenal!

A nice place to stay close to Lucerne, Lucerne Lake and surrounding mountains

Location was wonderful. Breakfast also excellent and staff friendly and helpful.We were upgraded to a fabulous junior suite, which was very welcome.

This hotel was amazing and so pet friendly. We had a nice room with a view of the lake surrounded by the marina and tennis club. Easy to manage with our dogs. There were plenty of staff to help out with questions about parking and other details that only happen when traveling. Breakfast was lovely and we were able to eat outside and enjoy the morning sunlight as it came over the lake.

Absolutely perfect and hope to come again.

Famtastic large rooms with beautiful view of lake!

A little pricey for the remote location but still super nice

Room was clean. We had 2 balconies so we should have had views of the mountains and the lake but it was very overcast so we could unfortunately not see the mountains. Was convenient to get to Luzern, about a 10 minute drive.

What a luxurious and nice hotel. Slept wonderfully the past few days. Staff were helpful and our room was kept fantastically clean.

We found parking a bit pricey and also a bit inconvenient with the extra key we needed. Everything else was well organised.
