There was nothing good about this hotel I didn’t even stay the night. The room was absolutely disgusting & I wouldn’t help them advertise. They are a disgrace. I never seen a hotel as filthy at this. You drive up & you know it’s bad.
Located in the center of North Bay
Very central in North Bay and well suited for most downtown activities (cafes, pubs, music, parades, etc.)

Top Tips
- Book early for peak seasons: North Bay experiences high demand during summer (June-August) for outdoor activities and winter for snowmobiling or skiing. Secure your room in advance, as rates can rise 20-30% and availability becomes limited during these times.
- Utilize airport shuttle services: Many hotels near North Bay Jack Garland Airport (YYB) offer complimentary or low-cost shuttle services. Confirm availability and schedule, especially for late-night or early-morning arrivals, as public transit from the airport is limited.
- Account for local taxes: Your hotel bill will include Ontario's 13% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) and North Bay's additional 4% Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT). Factor this combined 17% into your budget.
- Plan for transportation beyond the hotel: North Bay's public transit system is limited for tourist exploration. Renting a car from the airport (YYB) is recommended for visiting Lake Nipissing attractions, hiking trails, or exploring beyond the main commercial areas.
- Understand Canadian tipping etiquette: Tipping is customary in Canada, with 15-20% expected for good service in restaurants. For hotel staff, consider $15 per day for housekeeping and $15 per bag for bellhops.
- Verify Wi-Fi and parking inclusions: Most North Bay hotels offer free Wi-Fi and parking, but always confirm these amenities and any potential extra fees directly with your hotel. Some properties may provide in-room accessibility features, such as TTY or visual alarms, upon request, so verify availability during booking if needed.
- Prepare for North Bay's variable weather: The city has humid summers and cold, snowy winters, often below -10°C (14°F). Pack layered clothing and ask about winter amenities like heated indoor pools or coat storage. Some hotels may offer complimentary equipment loans, such as snowshoes, umbrellas, or sleds for guests.
- Inquire about local dining and activities: Ask hotel staff for local eatery recommendations featuring regional specialties like pickerel, or for current information on nearby attractions such as the Kate Pace Way trail or Lake Nipissing waterfront activities. Check if your hotel partners with area restaurants or provides discount vouchers for added value.
- Confirm pet policies if traveling with animals: Not all North Bay hotels are pet-friendly, and pet policies, fees, or amenities can vary. Disclose your pet when booking to avoid issues upon arrival.
- Consider flexible booking policies: With North Bay's unpredictable weather, choose hotels offering free cancellation—typically up to 24-48 hours before arrival—especially if your plans are uncertain.
- Check for specific traveler amenities: Solo or business travelers should verify if the hotel offers high-speed Wi-Fi, quiet workspaces, or access to a business center. Families should confirm the availability of cribs, rollaway beds, or kid-friendly breakfast options. Travelers with accessibility needs should confirm options such as step-free access, accessible rooms, visual alarms, or roll-in showers during booking.
- Present photo ID and credit card at check-in: A government-issued photo ID—such as a passport (for international visitors) or a driver's license (for domestic travelers)—and a credit card are standard requirements for hotel check-in in Canada, used to verify identity and cover incidental holds.
