Pros +
- We found staff very helpful, who went out of his way for us.
- Large, clean rooms, with a very comfortable bed. The communal kitchenette is handy for quick meals. There are some nice restaurants nearby and public transport is easily accessible.
- Location and easy late check in due to late opening hours of hotel
Cons -
- The music from the bar was quite loud, but would usually be turned off around 10:30pm so did not disturb sleep.
- I stayed on an exceptionally hot night and it took a long time for the aircon to cool the room. The rooms have French doors on to the old verandah balcony but these are sealed so there is no fresh air. If the owners could find a way of enabling secure and safe access to the balcony this would provide an awesome experience. Other work around would be for staff to turn on aircon prior to guest arrival.
- Removed half the car park from last time, took 20 minute for them to check me in and the bed/pillows were far far far too soft I hurt my hips

Great location
Removed half the car park from last time, took 20 minute for them to check me in and the bed/pillows were far far far too soft I hurt my hips
Very helpful staff. Nice welcome. Good food.
value for money. I didn't mind the shared bathroom. Proximity to airport. car parking. Nice old style feel to hotel.
A/c was noisy
Close to train station, 10 min walk, only one station to city centre. Plenty car park
The room was very small and need new paining. There was food crumbs in the cabine at the top of the fridge.Shower water has low pressure. The could hear the music from the bar downstairs up to late night until around 2am , specially on Friday night music was louder and last longer. I understand that there is a bar downstairs but the isolation of the rooms should be better so people could rest
The shared tiolets were great, very new and clean.
The room has been upgraded - very roomy - comfy bed and new bathroom. Love the new key swipe system as well. Very secure.
Loved the space we had and the food downstairs was excellent
The room was missing the remote control we managed to use it still so not really a problem
Location, convenience, great meals, easy access
Room was a bit stale and smelt
Staff friendly, good food, clean, very central location, good parking
TV in the room only has ABC or SBS channels - surly in this day and age all free channels could be programmed
Male staff were helpful. Good location
Staff when checking in were rude - females ignored us and did not want to help. Room was not cleaned properly, dirty plates and drawers, no TV remote. Hard to sleep with music below
Affordable and close to Airport
I was only there for a few hours and checked in late so I couldn't really sample meals or other services.
Good atmosphere, nice staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds.
The room was spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable and shower was awesome. Great pressure. Location is great and the bar/ beer garden is Awesome. The food is Sensational.
Pillows a little bit soft for me but that's a minor gripe as I just put 2 together
A one night stay turned into a week due to the unexpected stroke and passing of my partner. The staff at The Mile End were exceptionally compassionate and understanding. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They took care of everything for me so that I could just focus on me.Hospitality often gets a bad rap but the staff at The Mile End were some of the nicest people I have ever come across. The food, rooms and decor are also wonderful. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Everything, the room is small and basic, but clean and comfortable, the bed was amazingly comfortable. And honestly so cheap there's nothing to complain about...I was able to walk to the entertainment centre for a concert and walk back afterwards easily.
Food and cleanliness.
The motel room was uncomfortable as the bed was slightly tilted toward the head side, making it difficult to get proper sleep.
Bed, food & entertainment all in one spot… Driver could have a drink & not worry about driving home.. great staff, excellent food, great value for money
The reception on our TV wasn’t great, ( we weren’t there to watch it tho) Better blinds to block out light on beer garden side for the sleepers that need darkness..
