    Pros +

    • Hotel was quite nice and very personal. Staff was very friendly, hotel was very clean and breakfast very fresh and delicious. Its also fairly close to Red Beach and has a mini mart near by.
    • You had views of the caldera as well as the other side of the island. Great location if you like to walk. You can park at the ed beach or do a nice walk there to enjoy your day. Also, extremely close to caldera beach as well. The breakfast was good and the staff super nice.
    • Gorgeous property off the beaten path in the traditional village of Akrotiri (away from the tourist crowds in Oia/Fira) but close enough to some shops and great restaurants. Bus stop right outside made it easy to get around the island. Room is small but comfortable. Pool area is excellent! Owner/staff are wonderful and so helpful, truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Helped us book taxis to and from the port and provided local recommendations. Breakfast was the best we’ve had in Greece!

    Cons -

    • There is one bus from Akrotiri to Fira and the earliest one is only at 9AM.
    • Would stay again
    • Right by a main road so you could hear the road where my room was

Kalimera is a lovely small hotel on the outskirts of Akrotiri. The rooms are simple but functional and offered at a fair price. The pool and restaurant area are exceptionally beautiful and offer a lovely place to play or relax. The breakfast was generous and delicious (especially the yogurt!). Aktotiri is a much quieter town than the rest of Santorini and while it doesn't have the famous "built into a cliff" aesthetic of Oía or Fira, it is much lest touristy, much less crowded, but still has great restaurants and fantastic views. In fact, I would argue that the sunset and sunrise views of the island are infinitely better from Aktrotiri than in Oía where we stayed as well (plus you don't have to fight hoards of instagram influencers to do so). I would gladly stay at Kalimera again.

Great place. Family owned business. Very caring

Right by a main road so you could hear the road where my room was

The room had a nice window to the sea. it was also cool and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of food and snacks. There was a nice pool but we didn't get to swim in it but we were able to walk to the nearest beach (however, the beach was a bit stony)

Highly suggest to rent a car or an ATV when visiting Santorini. Although the hotel has some places that are walkable, most people will probably want to go other places as well, which is why having a vehicle is highly recommended

We loved our stay very much. Amazingly kind and helpful hotel manager. Thank you so much! Very good room - everything is so comfortable and thoughtful - good mattress, great shower, balcony with a great view, just perfect. Very good breakfast! Great pool and common area. A very peaceful, quiet place, where you can truly rest. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel - very easy to navigate through the island. The center of the village with shops and restaurants is just a 5 mins walk. We were in heaven, thank you for our amazing stay.

Lovely family hotel, great value, great garden, clean, well decorated, lovely staff

    10CatherinePosted on: 10-5-2024

Beautiful! Spotlessly clean, plentiful breakfast, great pool in a lovely lush garden (most hotels in Santorini are very bare with no foliage). Bus stop right out front. Several very good restaurants in easy walking distance. In a lovely quiet (but not dull or remote) part of the island, largely free of the daytrippers off the cruise boats.

Superb family run hotelGreat staffAuthentic Greek foodOnly downside was public transport in Santorini is not the best.Hire a car but parking then a problem

loved location away from the hustle and bustle of the big towns, but a few bars near by . Room view excellent, get Calmera view , snd balcony roomy and comfortable, loved the shower, friendly staff, pool very welcoming

it was all great but would have benefitted from more strage space.

A really beautiful hotel and an absolutely kind service. We spent there only a few days but would have loved to stay longer. If you are looking for a quiet plays on the island where you can relax this is the place you are looking for. We would definitely come back.

    Pool was very nice

The bedroom and the breakfast was horrible

    9CallumPosted on: 8-24-2024

Staff were very informative and friendly. Nothing seemed like to much of an issue. They were able to recommend places to go and booked us a taxi on the last day for cheaper than quoted elsewhere. Rooms were clean and showers were fantastic for the quality we were used to in Greece.

Storage in room is very limited. No wardrobe or cupboards for clothes.

    9ManuelPosted on: 8-11-2024

The room was nice with enough space for the family and the installation is really good. The swimming pool is more than enough and is a cosy hotel. The lady who manages the hotel is super kind and supportive.

    Nothing wrong

Varied breakfast, excellent location with great sunsets, very clean and hygienic but most importantly the staff were lovely, especially Flora! Thank you for a fantastic stay.

    10KnightPosted on: 7-20-2024

The view was UNBELIEVABLE. The staff was so helpful and kind. I would 100 percent stay again, and reccomend it to anyone. Especially if you're looking to get away from the touristy part of the island. (But you can get to Fira by public bus for 2 Euros, so it's perfectly accessible)

My ONLY comment about this hotel was that the lock on my bathroom was broken and I got trapped for about 10 minutes while the staff tried to get it open. I'm assuming they've looked into it and get it fixed so no one else gets stuck. But if you're in room 4, be careful haha

Really lovely family run hotel. The host was wonderful. We only stopped for one night before island hoping but will definitely be back next year. The pool was beautifully clean with plenty of seating/sunbeds.

The rooms were nice and clean. The outside facility was beautiful as well.

After having different breakfasts at other hotels, this one was our least favorite. The Greek yogurt wasn’t as thick as others we had enjoyed as well as the pastry section. With the location of the hotel it would benefit them to have better baked goods since there isn’t a bakery near.

Kalimera Hotel is an intricate and extremely well-maintained property in the charming village of Akrotiri. The breakfast was delicious, the staff (particularly Flora) were professional and helpful and the facilities were clean and beautiful. The hotel was quiet and we had beautiful views of the sea from our well-appointed room. Delicious restaurants and good shops within walking distance and the bus stops right out in front of the hotel.

Other patrons could’ve been a little more friendly.
