    Pros +

    • Free alcohol
    • Excellent price. Pods were comfy and they had an open bar
    • Very centrally located. Had no problem at all finding it. I've stayed in both cheap as well as expensive capsule hotels in the past. While this place costs just a -little- more than an average capsule, but it's absolutely worth it. The check-in process was very easy, and the desk employee was very friendly and helpful. I speak very limited Japanese, and she was extremely adept at simplifying her explanation to a level I could easily understand, as well as answer any questions I had about the amenities. Made me feel welcome, which is more than I can say for some hotel experiences I've had (especially in the US).The bath was very nice! Very thankful it was tattoo friendly (for foreigners). Given the overall price of the stay, I couldn't believe the level of amenities. Free breakfast & dinner, drink bar, snacks, and (of course) the self-serve alcohol service after 5 pm. Tons of Manga around to read, and the massage chair was absolutely next level! The capsule itself was -very- comfortable and might have been the best sleep I got on my whole trip. I saw some negative reviews about it being hot, but I had no problems whatsoever (and I'm a VERY hot sleeper most of the time). I lucked out and didn't have any crazy snorers around my pod. But even if I did, they have free earplugs available. Every capsule includes a USB powered fan, which is a nice touch. There is only one power outlet with one USB port though, so just be aware of that. Worst case- if you have a bunch of devices to charge, there are one or two additional USB ports on the back side of the TV. I believe you can also rent a power pack from the desk at little to no extra cost.

    Cons -

    • The group showers and the lack of spaces to talk at a normal volume.
    • I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about Anshin Oyado. Any problems or questions I had were immediately handled by the staff to the best of their abilities. Check in / check out were very simple and self explanatory.
    • no elevators, the self check-in did not work for me (although I tried several times, I had to do a typical check-in), it is located in Ogikubo, so you are not really in downtown Tokyo (but you do have a subway station at less than 5 minutes walking, super easy to find)

This place has a ton of amenities including free food and drink, a full Japanese style bath, massage chairs, and a bunch of other stuff. They additionally have a later than average check out time which was great for not feeling rushed. The shade for your individual bunk actually blocks out all the light from outside. You got your own TV in your bunk as well which is uncommon at this kind of hotel. Everywhere was extremely clean.

great value for money, incredibly clean toilets and showers (with toiletries, bath robes, towels, slippers), breakfast included (curry rice), as well as drinks in the evening + all-day water, coffee&sodas, sauna (2 types), artificial hot spring, lounge area, massage chairs

no elevators, the self check-in did not work for me (although I tried several times, I had to do a typical check-in), it is located in Ogikubo, so you are not really in downtown Tokyo (but you do have a subway station at less than 5 minutes walking, super easy to find)

    10ATTILAPosted on: 11-6-2025

great value for money: very clean and Japanese-style accomodation with spa (heated pool and 2 types of sauna), really close to the subway station (Ogikubo at less than 5 minutes walk), breakfast included, as well as free drinks (I thought it was a joke, but it is true!) with nice lounge upstairs, great shared shower and toilet facilities, very enjoyable experience overall

air quality in the capsule section is not excellent (air filters and fans try keeping up, but it is not as effective as opening a window), proximity to metro station might cause some noise and vibrations when you are closer to that part of the building, but it it not fely in the capsules, the staff do not speak English very well, but they do make a huge effort to understand and try to help you out

There’s so much to like about Anshin Oyado Ogikubo. The onsen, the lounge, the amenities, the free food and drink.

The location is good. Would be better if it was a little more central in Tokyo, but it wasn’t too out of the way.

    7curtisPosted on: 10-21-2025

    Close to station

Luggage stored away from sleeping area. Not a fault but more of my preference to have my luggage more accessible but I understand that I am in a capsule hotel

Amazing amenities. Very clean. Free alcohol. Breakfast curry. Awesome bath.

-Staffs were very friendly and helpful-First time using capsule but it was spacious and clean-Clean facilities (lounge and bathroom)-Restaurants and grocery store nearby which were great-Affordable laundry service-Great location, not far from train station (5 min walk)-It would be great if there were private shower rooms. But public bath was very clean. Have everything inside, shower gel, shampoo, hair dryer, razor, hair gel. You dont have to bring anything inside-Free breakfast, curry. Which was amazing. Unlimited drink and alcohol. Red & white wine. Also popcorn. Free Ramen at night. All amazing!

The hotel is a convenient distance from the station, with plenty of restaurants nearby open late. The staff are very helpful, and the free amenities are spectacular.

    No major complaints.

    7TLPosted on: 8-29-2025

Nice location—just a few steps away from restaurants and the subway (around a 3-minute walk). There are coffee shops and a McDonald’s nearby. The property also has its own onsen and is very clean

No elevator (ground floor to the 4th floor). The sleeping area has a faint but noticeable smell of perspiration. The room also tends to feel hot since the air-conditioning doesn’t reach the capsules properly.

Excellent amenities including massage chairs, hot baths, spa, etc. They are stocked with every kind of cosmetic product you can think of so you don’t even need to unpack things like your toothbrush or hair gel. It was my first time trying a cube hotel and the beds were very comfortable. Free drinks including alcohol at night plus breakfast curry and dinner ramen were included. Everything was kept super clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for value, relaxation and a unique Japanese experience!

    Nothing!

Clean, easy to use, stairs so no waiting for elevators, Free drinks etc. Close to the station.

Everything was fine. But I recently injured my leg and requested a lower capusle so I didnt have to use the ladder. I was given an upper one so i assumed all the lower ones were taken. But several seemed unused.

Free drinks and alcohol. No need to go to Convenience store for drinks. Great lounge space with free mssage chair. Everything was great.

Clean facilities and close to the station if you’re traveling nearby. I found it very comfortable and even decided to extend my stay because I really liked it, also the staff was friendly and nice to me at first! However, there were some issues with Booking.com, and that’s were things went down. Instead of being supportive, the staff gave me attitude and kept accusing me of not paying. I had to be the one to come up with a solution, which worked in the end, but by then, the mood for my stay was already ruined.

The staff kept accusing me of not paying for my stay on booking.com instead of figuring out a solution that would solve the problem. They also didn’t call or contact booking.com to confirm it.

My experience at this capsule hotel was amazing — I highly recommend it for its excellent price-quality ratio. It’s very well located, just about a 5-minute walk or less from Ogikubo Station. The cleanliness was outstanding — truly spotless. The sauna and bathrooms were incredible: clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a long day. The massage chair was a blessing after walking a lot — going to the sauna, getting a massage, and then heading to the 4th floor for a meal and drinks was the perfect way to end the day. In the morning, they serve a delicious curry, including a vegetarian option. They also offer entertainment like manga and TV.At first, I was unsure whether to try a capsule hotel or not, but I’m so glad I did. It was a fantastic experience. 10/10 I recommend it to everyone!

    9DexterPosted on: 4-30-2025

This was by far the best capsule hotel I stayed in during my trip. The facilities are great and it was very clean and tidy.

They did not have any vegetarian food, there is local places to get snacks but would have been nice for a vegetarian curry as there was a meat one.

    8TysonPosted on: 4-27-2025

The amenities were great. Rice and drink stand and a few free drinks in the evening. Everything was clean and quiet.

Just a bit too pricey for a capsule hotel, even though the extras are great.
