Oku Apartment

This property was only a short local train ride away from a major JR train station. The instructions for self check in were very clear and the reviews were accurate. I was aware of the stairs and was ready to navigate any of the challenges that some people have had. I was extremely impressed with the clean, new facility with the owner and caretakers' attention to detail, even providing amenities like body wash and shampoo. I was surprised with the excellent quality bedding and the bathroom even had a new - looking bathtub. The price for this facility was the same as what I paid for another one that was much, much worse - that one was more like a backpacker's "hotel". The neighborhood was quiet with several convenience stores and even a grocery store nearby, and a small playground.

The stairway is too narrow. The room is very small and not clean at all. I found a bed bug on the bed. Would not recommend.

Disappointing StayStayed for 7 nights with 3 friends, and all of us got bitten by bed bugs. We developed itchy, hot rashes by the second day. The staff changed the sheets and fumigated, but the damage was already done. We were offered ¥10,000 compensation, which didn’t feel enough given the discomfort and how it affected our trip.The apartment has basic amenities, but no elevator—carrying large luggage upstairs was difficult. There’s a laundry room, but no place to hang wet clothes. On top of that, the customer service wasn’t really helpful & solving our problem. In conclusion, sadly, the bed bug & their hospitality issue ruined the stay. We won’t return, but hope they improve their cleanliness and maintenance.

This was our 2nd time staying here so I’m just repeating my previous review. Good value for money since the listed amenities are complete (aircon, water heating, refrigerator, etc) and were good for our need. Also, the surrounding area is quiet and I like the nearby supermarket.

Others may have problems with the narrow stairs and the distance from the train station to the property, but for us they were fine. Also, others may have mentioned how small the room is for opening luggages, but it was ok for us since we can open our luggages on the bed.

No elevator and had to take my luggages all the way to the 4th floor in the narrow stairs.

Disappointing

The wall were very thin, we could ear the person in the room next door snoring. The bed we could feel all the springs and the kitchen didn't have any dishes or cutlery.

It was certainly cheap, with a very decent room size. Good proximity to a station (7 min walk). Akihabara is 30 mins away by train. The self checkin and out system is easy to use.

The beds had sheets that didn't stay in place (too small), the pillows were too small (at least for me as a tall foreigner that sleeps on his side) and mattresses had strangely segmented-but-attached sections that would slide out a bit with use.

The bed was comfortable and check in was easy.

It was dirty and the advertised facilities were a lie. The room was said to have two twin beds, a pull out couch, and a balcony. It has four twin beds and no balcony. I just didn’t appreciate an untruthful advertisement.

Room is very small. Ours room located on the top 4th floor and we have to bring all heavy luggage up and down the narrow staircase. The laundry is suck with no clear direction. I wasted 1500 yen yet can settle my laundry and the staff refused to settle it for me as they mentioned the washing machine is in good condition. When I asking about how to dispose the trash, the staff requested us to segregate it or else they won't collect it. Very arrogant staff. In fact the cleaner is kind enough to provide us with extra rubbish bag

Very good price and it's located near the train station. Modern.

Stairs are really narrow and steep, it's difficult if not dangerous to move up and down them with the baggage.We reserved a room with a balcony, but we were given one without it.

1 station away tokyo station, 2 stations away ueno where you can ride skyliner train (ueno-narita airport).

No Lift, we have to carry our 3 20kg luggages and the other 5 hand carry lugagges ?

Small room.Small toilet.Small bathroom.

The property is so clean and cozy. Neighborhood is so calm and quiet.

If there’s a TV it would be great.
