Hompton Hotel by the Beach

I like the view when I open up the curtains from our room. Nice scenery and comfy beds.

Quite surprised with the amount of parking lot in the hotel. Is a first come first served basis parking lot.

Room is spacious and Clean. Breakfast has plenty of options and good.

Finding Parking is bit troublesome at times

Amazing room. Very big with incredible views. Beds were excellent (firm). Smorgasbord breakfasts were pretty good, and varied a bit so didn't get boring. Back deck bar staff were fun and friendly. Also great having a hawker food court right across the road.

Very small swimming pool. Housekeeping was a bit hit-n-miss; some days everything was refreshed really well, but one day they left no toilet paper and some days they made up one bed but forgot the other.

Hotel by The beach with the seaview. Very firendly staff. Nice memories from New Years Eve. Good food in Tapas Bar on the 1 floor.

Ants in the room. Cannot put any food at the table or ants will come for it.

The location by the beach is stunning, and the rooms are nice with good amenities and servicing!

The hotel management never communicated to us that having an additional bed would cost us RM120, even though we communicated this in advance (1-2 months) and had confirmation before that this would be okay with no mention of the surcharge, and had a shock surcharge added to which the hotel management did not take responsibility for the miscommunication (provided us an upgrade, but still charged us extra for the bed- which was a rollaway bed and not comfortable to sleep on).

The location was ok... There is a nice walking beach out front of the hotel. There is not much around the hotel very few shops and food options. My upper room view was VERY NICE OCEAN VIEW!! The Front Desk Staff Woman Ria and Ayu were very PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE also Spoke wonderful English!! The swimming pool was small but refreshing.

I first tried Hompton Hotel last year & the experience was perfect. But when I booked again this year, it was rather a disappointment as the standard is not the same.The good thing about this hotel & the room I booked is the location is perfect, the seaview is perfect, room cleanliness & amenities are great, the size of the room is also spacious & the staff are really accommodating.

The frustration that I went through was, I reached the hotel around 8.00pm+ & it was raining heavily, so obviously hotels are cold due to the aircond & etc. To my horror, not hot water in the bathing shower. I had to call the Maintenance to look into it. they went to the roof top & then came down & tell me that they just ON the heater, so it will take a couple of hours for the hot water to slowly start to come. So, we ended up taking luke warm water shower during the cold night. Then, the next morning, the water was only slightly hot with very low pressure. When I came last year & booked the same Family Two-Bedroom Suite, there were snacks provided as part of the free items, but this year don't have. Also, the breakfast in not of a 5 star level - taste was so so & the options lacks in variety.

There is this seafood BBQ buffet in the hotel on the weekend, Across the road there is another NASI LEMAK stall. The hotel management are perhaps reading comments on the google review constantly , as i do a review in zgoogle , the response from the hotel management was very promt to crrect it .

The bath room WC seat and the sliding door of the bath room , even after it repaired , its still broken.

The staff - very friendly from the bellman, front desk, restaurant & lounge till housekeeping.The hotel and view itself - superb & awesome.The room - spacious . The bed - comfort.None the less, totally great stay here.Fully recommended to all types of guest check-in here ???

The view from my window was exceptional! The price was very good for such a beautiful hotel, right at the beach.

The location is strategic, just 4 mins drive to Straits Quay, 15 mins to Gurney Drive, 30 mins to ESCAPE Penang, and 25 mins to Penang Hill / Kek Lok Si. There is a beach right down the hotel if you fancy an evening stroll or swim, and there are amenities like a swimming pool if you prefer a sand-free zone to swim in.We didn't try the food in the hotel, but the whole premise is clean, spacious and very comfortable to be in. There are also a myriad of eateries to explore in the vicinity.I am especially delighted by their smart TV in the hotel room being able to cast from my (Android) phone for movies and shows when I'm not interested in their variety of channels. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is very clean and ambient. There are blinds for the full-height glass window that separates the bedroom and the bath, so privacy during bathroom use is catered for.

The soundproofing could be a little better, the echoes from the common corridor into the hotel rooms are a tad loud sometimes. Otherwise everything's great!

seaside bar & lounge

the multilevel carpark is very narrow & might feel hard to navigate for bigger cars & SUV.. there was water on the floor the next morning.. might be due to a big thunderstorm on the previous night

Location and comfortable sleeping arrangements. Breakfast was good.

Minibar was missing. Dinner was not good. Air conditioning did not work well and it actually was hot in the room during the daylight hours.

The staff were very nice and upgraded our room to a suite which had a wonderful view of the beach, was spacious and clean and the staff were very helpful.

Breakfast could be improved

Room is very cozy. Almost an apparment. Location right on the beach, nearby a lot of street food and shopping mall.

Great beds

Cheap hotel. Behave as luxury but cheap. Traffic at the lift, always. Was sick because of the restaurant (don’t order nachos). No hot water in the shower. A/c was barely working. Nowhere to hang the towels. No conditioner. Bad smells in the bathroom
