    Pros +

    • Beautiful location and guests have their own beach and snorkeling spots, quiet and far from the crowds, the staff are helpful and courteous.
    • Amazing location, great snorkeling, secluded, beautiful. Slice of paradise, amazing memorable experience, would definitely recommend and would go again.
    • We loved the property being a boat ride away from Port Barton, which gave us the feel of having the entire island to ourselves at such an affordable price!Clean beach, fine sand, clear waters. There’s nothing more we could ask for. To top it off, their menu was delicious! The staff were also top notch in hospitality and were always there to assist us & make sure we were comfortable during our stay.

    Cons -

    • Very basic accommodation, was OK if you know what to expect. Mosquito nets on the beds made sleeping fine but expect bugs/geckos.
    • The rooms haven't been upgraded for decades it would seem! The fan was so old and the solar power which should have powered the fan for 'approx 8 hours' ran out after 2 hours each night and it was far too hot to sleep. We certainly didn't expect luxury for the price but were disappointed with the rooms, they were dark, the mosqutio nets had many holes and the bathrooms were very smelly.Beware they will add 12.5% tax on top of the booking.com price!! It is advisable to make a note of everything you order during your stay, as our final bill was inaccurate and very confusing. This also happened to other guests while we were there. They didn't even know how much we were to be charged for our room and we had to show them our booking.com booking confirmation! Note payment is by cash only.
    • Basic but we knew this and it’s fine. Snorkel equipment was old and leaked.

The perfect place to relax and enjoy a pristine beach. The place is very remote, with not so many tourists when we were there, the beach is amazing and the garden around the cottages is really nice and well maintained. The staff was amazing, helpful, always nice. The surprise was the food, they cooked really good food for us and have a lot of vegetarian options. Also, they have filtered water for refilling bottles and coconut juice and cocktails options. The room could be renovated a bit, but the beach, snorkeling place and the hike in the jungle compensate a lot and we spent most of our days outside.

This place is out of a dream. A private island that is gorgeous, private room with bathroom for the same price as a dorm bed in el nido, friendly staff, dogs, short hiking trail, amazing snorkeling. This place is a must visit.

The island is beautiful. Great snorkelling. Lovely view from the sea front bungalows.

This place is paradise! It's simple in the sense that there's no electricity most of the day, and no cell reception - so it's not for someone looking for a fancy, modern resort. We loved the getaway, and they've made the resort so beautiful with the garden, beach and bungalows. You can discover coral reefs from the beach, swim with turtles, rent kayaks, chill in the hammocks, socialize with the other guests.. We didn't want to leave.

Amazing setting! Beautiful secluded pristine little island with private beach. Plenty of space for everyone and nice social area in the restaurant. Plenty of activities: kayaks, tennis table, library and best of all playing with the dog Momo! Lovely food and plenty of choice. Nice staff, though they seemed a bit disorganised! At the end, they manage to resolve issues and keep everyone happy. Accommodation is basic but comfortable enough - all you need for your little island escapade!

Location, food and feel to the place.

Basic but we knew this and it’s fine. Snorkel equipment was old and leaked.

Excellent location, pristine beach, and good location for snorkeling and kayaking. Food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are plenty and very tasty, and the wifi is fast and stable (only when the generator is running). The coconut garden is well taken care of.

The seaview rooms are small, in a bad state, and in dire need of renovation. There are holes in the floor, shower was not very clean, and it all has a very dated look. Furthermore, there is not much to do and bar closes early.

The view was stunning. And the setting.

No air con and very limited access to electricity.Limited sun beds. No cushions on them.It was all very run down and desperately needs updating. The food in the restaurant was functional but little else.

Location, location, location! Wow! what an amazing paradise. A wonderful "deserted island" experience. Enjoy drifting off to sleep to the sound of the waves and the waking to the sunrise. Coconut Garden Island Resort is a whimsical, quirky little place to get away from it all. What a great place to chill.

The room could use some refreshing like new bed sheets towels etc but the private beach makes up for everything

Wonderful beach and garden, amazing and nice staff, delicious food in good prices. Cute dogs :))

Maybe just a little bit of cottages renovation? :)

    9LenaPosted on: 1-28-2025

Fantastic location, manicured gardens, pristine beach. Relaxed and basic resort but thoughtfully designed with plenty of space for relaxation: books, games, ping pong table, kayak. The food was way more varied and good than expected. Fair value. Nice staff.

It was a bit chaotic with the organisation. Make sure you double check dates and times for accommodation and transfers.

    9JenniferPosted on: 1-25-2025

Amazing location if you want to escape it all. The gardens are fantastic. Really good value for money.

The food options were good, but they could be better. We wish there were more Filipino options rather than Italian. Or just grilled seafood and fish. We also wished we had more info and advice about the sandflies on the beach and how not to get bitten, as we got bitten really badly.

Excellent little beach resort. If you are solo traveller, here it's not a great spot because it's usually couples that goes there. Regardless, I've enjoyed my 3 nights kayaking, swimming, relaxing and eating excellent food. I'll be back for sure!

Not much to do except for relax. I wouldn't stay longer than 3 nights if I'm solo traveller.

    9PaulPosted on: 12-13-2024

This is a wonderful quiet getaway since Port Barton town is getting more and more like a party placeGood place to snorkel, read books, play games. Wake up to the sound of the waves

    1) There are no boat activities offered via resort or third party. I'd advise to make a private arrangement in the town before visiting if you'd like to boat tour around as well2) Not a disadvantage but do keep in mind the cost of 400php/person/boat trip to get to the resort, the trip is about 45 minutes

The wonderful beach and garden and friendly staff

    7HelenPosted on: 10-14-2024

Beautiful spot. Simple, basic accommodation but everything we needed. Snorkeling was great. Beach is beautiful. Restaurant is good, staff very friendly. We were there with our 2 x teenagers who enjoyed themselves. There were no other guests when we visited. I had booked a separate room for the kids and they upgraded it to a bigger hut next to ours. Lovely place to spend 3 days!

Resort should make it super clear that you have to pay them in cash. There is no card machine, Booking.com don't take the payment. There is no aircon but there are fans.
