Pros +
- We stayed 3 nights Over thru windows Vista spectacular view of the bedroom Just wonderful unforgettable. Front and breakfast room staff very kindness and good food National park entrance at 5 min.
- The location is perfect for the mountains!
- Within walking distance of the national park entrance. Easy to get a bus near the hotel. Comfortable bed.
Cons -
- Walls are very thin so I could hear the people next door watching tv and talking.
- Seemed like it had been recently renovated but it looked very outdated overall. Even though i got the mountain view, there was no view. I felt it was too pricey for it's value :(
- The hotel is old and hasn’t been renovated for a very long time. There’s a lot of dust and mold, and there’s a smell in the bathroom. The sink installation is strange. The tiles seem to be coming loose — just a small knock and they would fall off the walls.

The size of the room and the bed was bigger than expected

The best thing about this hotel is the location — it’s super close (5 minutes) to the park, which is really convenient. We saw traffic jams in the morning and evening and long lines for the bus, so staying so close to the park was a big advantage.Breakfast was great, with plenty of choices.

Easy access to National Park walks; beautiful autumn foliage during November visit; Charm of Old English hotel including library; lots of sports memorabilia on display.
Hotel cries for renovation. Its just OLD, like UK London pub.
feels and looks very old, not modern, though location was great
Location was good but parking is cheap for the park so I’d recommend staying elsewhere.
Lots of bugs. The property just says that you have to deal with it. Had a house centipede land on my face while sleeping. Management tried to ignore my concerns.
Great staff and location.
Outdated building and faciity.
Great location to access the Park, very nice, classy British hotel, clean and comfortable accommodation
The restaurant had very limited vegetarian choices. The staff were helpful but spoke just enough English (for a Kensington Hotel). Front desk could be more friendly during check in process and more welcoming
The Kensington Hotel Seorak is the ideal place to view autumn foliage. The hotel features a sophisticated and traditional interior, high-quality buffet dining, and comfortable with well-prepared service from the friendly staff. It's a hotel I would definitely want to return to.
I had to turn on the water and wait for about 5-10 minutes to take an early morning shower. However, I was given a detailed explanation that the water system uses pumped-up groundwater, and I was able to shower with the clean and health-beneficial groundwater from Seorak Mountain.
The staff is friendly. Brought me pancakes to my table :)Location is beautiful and walking distance from the park.
You need to be early for breakfast, otherwise you will have leftovers. We arrived around 9:20 on our first time and there was no pancakes. The dinner at the restaurant was not good..unfortunately the meat was dry. The starters was nice.
The location was unbeatable, and our room had a mountain view which was beautiful. Being so close to the Seorak trails was the only thing that made this worth it for us.
The hallways and rooms smelled musty, there is generally a very old and outdated vibe at the hotel - not just the style (I understand that is purposeful) but I couldn't get over the smell of the hallways and rooms. The carpet, the walls, doors - all looked like they needed a good power clean and refresh. The rooms themselves are also pretty outdated too, and the beds are very uncomfortable. The walls are INCREDIBLY thin, to the point that I could tell what movie the next unit was watching (it was not obnoxiously loud). If you're looking for some place to experience Korean culture, this isn't it. But if you're willing to pay a premium just have a place to crash within walking distance of the Seorak trails and cable car, this would be worth it.
Location is the main pro of the hotel. Otherwise everything is pretty standard, not luxury. The breakfast chefs are great!
perfectly located as it is right at the entrance of the national park. so if you like to do the sun rise hike to uslanbawi, that's just perfect! especially, if you are travelling by bus. arrive in the evening before, stay one night and enjoy the hike! bus stop right in front of the hotel.
Location was superb. Mountain view out of the balcony was stunning. Breakfast selection is decent as in any other big western hotel chain. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant and spoke excellent english.
The furnishings are getting dated a bit.
Perfect location for exploring the park . Staff was extremely helpful and professional. The room was very clean.
The hotel is a bit dated and the rooms could use a refresher. The dinner was convenient but disappointing. Dishes were not very good.
Perfect location for hiking in Seoraksan National ParkThis hotel is ideal if you’re planning to hike in Seoraksan. There’s a bus stop right nearby, and the park entrance is just a 5-minute walk away — super convenient! We stayed for two nights and had enough time to explore and enjoy everything. The rooms are basic, but having a bathtub was such a treat after long hikes. You can even buy bath bombs or aromatic bath salts in the shop on the ground floor — a small detail that made a big difference. Our room had a beautiful mountain view, which was a lovely bonus. The breakfast deserves a special mention — a wide variety of food and everything was very tasty! The only suggestion would be to start breakfast earlier, especially during summer season — even 6:00 AM would help hikers a lot
The hotel is a bit old — the furniture and carpet are worn and creaky. Also, the overall decor might not be to everyone’s taste — it has a very unique, vintage style.
Location and view at the at the heart of this hotel. The staff are all mostly helpful and happy. It’s a 5-10 min walk to the national park! Breakfast was actually warm and decent.
It’s dated, dirty, falling apart, needs a new overhaul, and everything is way overpriced! We did the afternoon tea, and although it was beautiful to look at, the tastes and textures weren’t there. Plus there’s not very much tea and no sugar and cream that comes with! Overall the hotel price tag was just not worth it.
Location from park, upgrade, redone room (floors, bathroom with electric bidet, wallpaper), mountain view
