Hotel standarts are so high. Rooms are new, super clean, well designed and are just in front of the beach so you only walk 2/3 mins to reach the pool/beach. Beach was super clean, there were no seaweed as we say some other hotels have. Most importantly, the location was perfect as it is in a bay in Grand Baie that makes sea color so bright turquaz that i never seen in Maldives, Seychelles, Zanzibar etc. Waterski + bottom glass boat trips are included to the hotel price.

Not a problem for me but not the good place for diving.

The hotel exceeded our expectations on many levels. From the very beautiful beach with free water sport activities, the great breakfast, excellent level of service from the staff, champagne on arrival, clean and spacious room with great balcony, great gym. It's probably the best hotel we experienced so far regarding the quality of the service, either on the beach or in the restaurant and the main reception as well.

The cocktails and wines were overpriced.

The food was exceptional. Please thank the chef on our behalf. Massive thanks also to Jean Pierre, the concierge - extremely helpful and knowledgeable. All the staff made our holiday. Their kindness, respect and friendliness were better than anywhere we have ever stayed before. Thank you and we hope sincerely to be back again soon. Karen and Derek Pountley

Beautiful location at a gorgeous beach wiht beautiful sunsets. What's not to like? Rooms are comfortable with great views. The resort is within walking distance of the restaurant and bar scene of Grand Baie, but far enough away to not hear any of the noice

The staff was oddly off - very servile, but not really service minded. Especially the boat house people were anything but helpful - which was a pity, considering they had a great range of offerings from SUPs over kayaks to Hobie cats, all for free. Also in the restaurants only a few of the staff paid real attention. This was in sharp contrast to other luxury hotels in Mauritius, so not a cultural thing

No activities around .And despite the fact that there is a big staff there is no lifeguard for the beach and this could be dangerous .

Everything was so good and we ended up with extending our stay as we really loved it!Staff especially at the water sport place were incredibly supportive and nice. The room, food, atmosphere, all the staff, facilities, furniture.. were so satisfying and just amazing. Nothing to complain about at all. This resort made our honeymoon so special. We will be back in the future. Thank you very much for all of your hospitality.

Very green, wonderful spa, very well maintained area, excellent breakfast. Stylish hotel interior, friendly staff. Beautiful beach, clear sea. Sufficient privacy. Very good main restaurant - tasty and stylish. Very beautiful beach bags.It’s nice that the hotel strives to maintain a certain level of dress code and a secular, but not intrusive atmosphere. In general, Mauritius has an amazing mild climate, it’s just good there.

The helipad is too close to the SPA (noise), the rooms are a bit bothered by the uninhabited smell. And the experiment with the Pan-Asian restaurant didn't work out, but that didn't matter since the main restaurant was wonderful.

Menu for lunch and dinner. It's the same thing everyday. The amount you pay, they should have rotating menu's. Like having the grill more than once a day instead of every Thursdays.

The service levels were outstanding in every aspect.

The only disappointment was that during the last three days we faced telephone and internet connectivity problems in the room. The staff was fixing them but they re-appeared.

Amazing hotel. The resort has one of the best beaches on Mauritius. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food is great as well. The room (junior suite) was spotless and spacious. There was a very nice balcony as well. All around the best resort I have stayed in awhile.

Royal palm really exceeded our expectations - excellent location, tucked away enough to enjoy a private beach and relaxed atmosphere but only a short walk away from the town, which is great if you like to explore places. The attention to detail in the rooms was excellent, the staff in the hotel and on the beach were attentive and so amazing, the food was exceptional! Honestly loved everything about our stay.

One of the best in Mauritius, if not, the best. The kindness & politeness of the staff, well-maintained property, the breakfast, the quality of the beddings, and many great water activities the hotel offers are some of the things we liked so much about this place. All the staff were wonderful, friendly, brilliantly trained and kind, remembered our names from day two, but you can feel that they are also trained with the mindset to sell all the extras, which is pretty normal and expected, but sometimes it gets a little bit too insistent.-You can easily tell that the management cares about the small details when it comes to the overall cleanliness of the rooms and the property in general, but I didn’t notice the housekeeping using vacuum cleaners to clean bread crumbs from the breakfast we had earlier that morning, instead, they were using brooms to clean the floors, which I think is a time-consuming way to clean the rooms and not as detailed as it would be if they used vacuum cleaners. There were still some crumbs left when I came to the room in the evening.

Too much noise comes from the nearby rooms’ doors & from the corridors while sleeping.-The bathroom amenities are not on par with the hotel's overall quality. The shaving kit is the worst I have ever seen at any hotel, and overall bathroom amenities could be better than the current ones. Although they were eco certificated which is a nice touch as the hotel markets itself as a sustainable property, for a hotel like this, you would expect better bathroom amenities. Some recommendations for bathroom amenities: Hermes Eau d’orange verte, Salvatore Ferragamo Tuscan Soul Convivio, Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin; for more mid-range ones I would recommend checking out these companies’ products: Pharmacopia, Atelier Rebul, Le Labo. I personally liked the soap, the cleansing gel, and the conditioner, but the shampoo and the body lotion caused my skin to itch after using them.-In July, the sun sets at around 6 pm in Mauritius, and if you’d like to have dinner by the ocean during sunset, you have no choices at all to dine at the hotel. Dinner starts at 7.30 pm, which is pretty normal, but for a hotel having a view like this by the ocean, having no option to dine by the sunset in July is definitely a negative side.-From the first day of our holiday, there was a musty smell in our room that went away on our fifth day.-The daily fruit plate and our minibar was forgotten to be restocked on our third day.-I made the reservation for our final night on a separate reservation on booking.com but they could not find it, and it took some time for the reception to find our booking on their systems on the last day, as the room we were staying in was booked on the day we were leaving. As hoteliers ourselves, small surprises like a fruit plate for the inconvenience could have been offered. As I made 2 separate reservations, I'm leaving 2 separate reviews & this 8.
