Pros +
- The design of the building and spaces.
- The location was great aswell as the outside area of the hotel with the bar, pool and restaurant.
- The property had an attached restaurant and the breakfast that was included in my stay was outstanding, taking standard fare such as avocado toast to another level. The property was located on a road that runs along the edge of the lake and near numerous restaurants and establishments offering adventure options. The lay out was clever and original and true to the ecological theme. There were lots of spaces to sit and relax. The room had plenty of outlets for chargers etc. I felt I could have enjoyed a few more days on site.
Cons -
- It's not clear when looking online that several (or all) of the larger rooms are not part of the main building. It's not a big deal, but would be good to clarify.
- The rooms themselves… might be good for some people however we found it way too small to be comfortable. The WiFi did not work.
- I never could quite get the hang of the key code system for my door. My particular accommodations had a bed which was accessed by steps. I found these steps awkward. While the hotel is centrally located, I originally had a little trouble finding it at night because the signage was somewhat low key.

Great location, beautiful place. The food here is delicious.
Rude staff while checking in, WiFi is bad can’t use it in you’re room unless your outside. There is construction going on in the property with noise early in the morning till late at night, construction workers are just staring at the women in the pool.
Nice Bali type vibes, really nice breakfast and pool Location perfect, 5 min from central Plaza and just crossing the street for the lagoon
A lot of humidity and smell of it
The property very lovely. They were remodeling the pool so i i suggest they do an upgrade about it in thier social media
Pools out of service. The 2 small pools were filled with rain water attracting many mosquitoes. The room was very very small & dark.. the attic in the room was very low the stairs too long & very steep. Very unsafe
Very nice setting, cool jump to the pool, super comfortable pillows and bed and the breakfast was amazing
There was a bit of construction going on
Very nice hotel the pool is great and location is perfect
The room is very small and the bed not very comfy
Really great hotel in Bacalar. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. The hotel is very stylish and really considers every detail. The breakfast is included and really delicious. Great pool and bar and easy to walk anywhere in Bacalar.
Construction by the pool.
Location and the staff were extremely nice. Thank you to the team for making sure my experience was good.
The upstairs room I found them dangerous. The stairs to get to the bed are really complex… not at the same height and the bed is like 3 mts from the floor… going up and down was an interesting experience… certainly not handicap friendly nor seniors or someone not in good shape…
It was very pleasant, nice atmosphere and good food
The sleeping in the roof is not recommended for older people I buy because it say 4-5 stars I was looking for a green stay but I was very disappointed on arrival and wanted to get back my money but wasn’t able so I had to go and get another hotel
It was very peaceful I enjoyed a nice massage I recommend Lillian she absolutely amazing. Great staff as well
Did not stayWay under construction!!! Horrible and dirtyI requested a refund, !!!!
Staff went above and beyond.
Power out for three hours . Then power out for 9 hours with no AC no nothing. Roof leaked. Rooms are small , no fridge no tv. AC cannot go below 20C.
I cannot say enough about how lovely the experience was. The hotel was chic and had everything you could need. It’s in a great location close to the lagoon and zocalo and many restaurants and shops around. The bed was so comfortable and the rooms were cozy. The shower was also excellent with warm water and good pressure. The stay included a delicious breakfast with many options. The staff were also very friendly. Great value for money - highly recommended!
Very nice and comfortable common areas, very good breakfast
Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing heavy renovation work next to the pool during our stay, so the atmosphere was a bit off
The location of the property was perfect for getting around. It was a short walk to the night market and a good area for bars and restaurants. The onsite bar and restaurant were stunning and we were pleasantly surprised at the breakfast that was included. We were able to order two items from the menu - one sweet and one savoury, and everything we ordered was incredible.
Although it is described as a “tiny house concept” I don’t think we were quite prepared for just how tiny; there wasn’t any room to move once we’d opened the cases. The advert states that there is a fitness studio/space but there was a few wooden weights in a corner which isn’t what we were expecting and there wasn’t a fridge in the room, which I understand is probably down to space.
We ended up going to another hotel but before we did the bartender offered us a free drink and we are so happy we took him up on the offer. This is where the pros begin, the restaurant is FIVE STARR like no seriously the best thing we ate in Bacalar. I am still thinking about the crab tacos, we tried to go back the next day to get some to go back but they were closed. All and all, the staff is great, restaurant amazing but not a dog friendly hotel in my opinion. I rated it a 7 only because the restaurant deserves it, honestly it deserve a 10 but the rooms and pet friendliness a 1, would come back for the food but I wouldnt stay with my dog
Okay so I decided, to book my stay here because it was pet friendly and the reviews, however I did not have the same great experience. Upon check in the huskie that lives there almost attacked my dog and I had to stop it/protect my dog, staff were all around and not a single one did anything to help. Finally the huskie was taken into the back room/staff area so I could pass with my dog and check into our rooms. Now the problem with the room, its quite small and congested, I booked the quadruple room thinking it would be spacious but its not. I would say the hotel is more of an upscale hostel and the room is like a loft. The issue is, the stairs are quite steep, my dog would get upstairs but could not come down so i left very uneasy leaving him. Also wouldnt recommend the upstairs loft for anyone tall, my friend whos 5'5 was walking hunched down.
We loved the location with an easy walk into town and to the lake. The staff were friendly and were very sweet to make us a video on how to check in as we would be arriving late. Both days, the included breakfast at the attached restaurant was outstanding. It's a beautiful place, but read on to see why we wouldn't stay again.
The room was NOT how it looked on the website. It was tiny, with an almost vertical climb up the wall to crawl onto a mattress on top of the bathroom. No headroom, you could not stand up there, and it was quite hazardous to climb down to go to the bathroom during the night. These steep stairs are dark until lights come on halfway down. If you're in your 20's you'll love it. But it was definitely not what we expected and anyone with any mobility issues like my friend with a sore hip or me with knee pain, will not enjoy this stay and find it uncomfortable. Service at the bar took a very long time. 25 min to make 2 margaritas when there was only one other table who had already been served. When we received our drinks we're pretty sure there was no alcohol in it. We didn't order a second drink; rather got changed and went out and enjoyed drinks elsewhere.
Well located near the lagoon and on the main road, the hotel has very “nomadic vibe”, lot of eco and sustainability. Hammocks and comfy sofas - looked good. The breakfast (we paid for separately) at the little restaurant was nice. They also offered paddle boarding sunrise trips at the reception and the receptionist lady was very nice.
We got a room at the ground floor and I must say it was loud, the bathroom window must have been looking at a rubbish spot at the back of the hotel cos in the morning the smell was very unpleasant, the bathroom was not properly divided by a proper door from the main room (which is not great whether you travel as a couple off not) and as 2 girls we did not feel the safest (which may have been just our perception nothing actually happened), but we have ben told the front gate of the hotel is not locked and the room door was reliant on a coded lock machine we could not manually lock the door from inside. We were there only for a night so did not make a fuss but that would require some improvement. Also, no one really told us that part of the hotel pool and likely the hotel itself was under reconstruction so it did not all looked like on the pics.
