    • Very friendly and professional. Our room was very. Lean. They provided a light breakfast and coffee. We will be back.
    • The hotel is very simple and rustic which did not come across to me in the photos so when I arrived, I thought I wasn't going to like it as that was not what I was expecting. But the room, while quite small and having absolutely no frills, had lots of positives. It was very clean, had a good air conditioner (a must here!) and good water pressure including plenty of hot water. The TV worked and had international channels that came through clearly which was great as during the hot hours of noon and 4 pm you just want to chill in your room. All the staff were very kind and helpful from the check-in to the cleaning personnel. The location is great as you can easily walk to the Fort which is worth a visit, to the Ecopark which is definitely worthwhile and there is the main square with plenty of restaurant choices and the boat docks to take the lagoon tour all within minutes by foot. The hotel's garden also has a lot of nice aspects as there are coconut trees, bananna trees, lime trees and organge trees which at first you don't notice for some reason, but once you spend some time on the patio relaxing, you start seeing how nice it really is. The place is very quiet and while there were other guests, I felt like we had the place to ourselves and we were able to rest and sleep very well. There is no coffee, water or fridge in the room itself, but there is all the instant coffee you want at the entrance in the outdoor shared-living room, along with purified water by the glass and I was able to use the fridge in their breakfast area to store small items. Breakfast was fresh fruit that they prepared every day when we arrived for breakfast. It consisted of a bowl of sliced papaya, bananna, melon and watermelon and 2 slices of toast with a small dab of jam on it, plus coffee and some kind of Sunny Delight beverage (not real orange juice). We stayed for 6 days and while the breakfast was always the same, it was fresh and helped get us started.
    • Clean and spacious room. Perfect location. 2' walk to the Zocalo, 5' walk to the laguna!

    Cons -

    • In the end, I didn't care that it wasn't super sophisticated since it was relaxing and authentic. I ended up liking everything. But again the place is really no-frills.
    • Breakfast could have been a little more extensive. But a coffee, toast and some fruit is a good beginning to start the day.
    • Room was small for 3 adults. Towels could have been better quality

Can walk to pretty much everything. Fort, church, square and water. Quaint patio

Waited till 8:15 and no breakfast. Only spanish tv.

The room was nice and the exterior facilities were beautiful with hammocks and flowers. The staff was friendly and the brekfast ws nice. The location is perfect.

There was a bad smell coming from the shower and some ants inside the room.

The area seemed safe and in respect to the hotel the rooms were clean and comfortable.

A very quaint hotel with beautiful surroundings to sit and enjoy. The location is only a block away from the main square, restaurants and the fort. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast of fruit, toast & coffee was a great start to the day.

Location was perfect, Room was amazing. Ultra clean. Family owned and run. Could walk from the ADO bus station (1.5 km maybe). Just up the road from the lagoon. And close to the centre, for food, drink and nightlife. Provided water to refill bottles, free coffee all day, and basic breakfast was provided. Thumbs up. Definite hidden gem in Bacalar. Maria was great, so helpful, and a pleasure to deal with.Best stay in Mexico so far, while touring.

    Nothing. Was all great.

    9EmilioPosted on: 1-8-2024

Perfect location at the center of Bacalar, but sufficiently off to avoid the noise. Really close to the main activities, the Fuerte Felipe, the laguna, the restaurants and bars.

Breakfast included but limite choice. Coffee was definitely not their specialty. Toasts we fine, but no choice of crepes or whatever Mexican desayunos specialties...

Great location in the very centre, close to the lagoon. Very clean and quiet. Staff extremely helpful and unintrusive. Beautiful grounds that are kept in perfect condition with the gardener working daily. Nice healthy breakfast included in the price. Sufficient parking space. Restaurants of all kinds at a walking distance.

There were four of us, so the room felt a bit small, but, as we only returned there to sleep, it was fine.

Super fast and stable internet in the lobby. Perfect location. Very good and helpful staff. Very good place for holidays or digital nomads. AC working very well in the room. Hot water works well as well.

Room had two beds and almost no more free space. But, I'm not going there to stay at room, so it's not an issue at all. Internet in the room could be better. Hopefully there is great connection from the lobby if needed.

    Pleasant

Small beds. No effort at all by the reception/manager to make you feel welcome. Desinterested.. Breakfast ok. but little

    8CiaraPosted on: 7-28-2023

The location was very good, close to the square where there are lots of restaurants and walking distance to the lagoon . Not far from the bus station. The room itself was comfortable

    The staff weren’t very helpful.

    9MartinPosted on: 3-19-2023

We absolutely loved lovely garden with all the lights and seating areas including hamacas. The rooms are comfy and stuff helpful.

Basin is out of the bathroom, which is little odd. The breakfast is fine and tasty, however it can be bigger (there is juice or hot beverage, both choices is not possible) and fruits with seeds and yoghurt and one piece of toast is not sufficent for everyone.

    10KimPosted on: 3-11-2023

Great continental breakfast. Location was great walking distance to lagoon, city park & many restaurants. Very pretty setting with comfortable outside seating & inside gate parking. Comfortable beds & nice bathroom. This came highly recommended from a friend & I would certainly recommend to others

    10SherryPosted on: 2-27-2023

The continental breakfast was sufficient and delicious consisting of fresh fruit, toast and coffee. Location was perfect. Easy walking to restaurants and the main square.

The coffee wasn’t good. Need better stronger coffee

    10SherryPosted on: 2-4-2023

The continental breakfast of fresh fruit topped yogurt and granola, toast and coffee was perfect. The hotel location is just block away from restaurants and the beautiful park. The Bacalar lagoon is a short 10 minute walk. The entire staff is welcoming and friendly.

    8ElizaPosted on: 1-15-2023

Excellent location right next to main square

Wifi was constantly coming on and off. Also it would be nice to have an on site bar/restaurant.

    10SaraPosted on: 1-15-2023

The casa was exceptionally clean and cosy, the outside space was amazing. Located a block from town centre. This was my favourite place that I stayed in Mexico.
