    Pros +

    • The breakfast was good and abundant, the owner is super-nice and available to provide informations about Bacalar and sorroundings. The place is nice and tranquil. there is a private parking. The place is in a good position to reach Bacalar town centre and a couple of good spots like Los Rapidos or Cenote Cocalito, both good places to see the stromatolites.
    • Lovely place to stay. Food is great. Staff is friendly. Would stay again.
    • Great cabins, with large beds a comfortably sized bathroom and shower. There was an A/C and no issues with insects in the room. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Staff were super friendly and helpful (especially Laura and Ines!) and the included breakfast had several great options, also vegetarian that were not too heavy. No lagoon access, but we knew this already, and used a couple of day passes to other places during our 4 night stay, plus had a small pool to enjoy onsite when we were feeling lazy.Located lightly south of the main town area (30 minute walk, 5 minute taxi)

    Cons -

    • can't really find something that I did not like.
    • Not beachfront
    • Can’t really think of anything negative

Very nice place with lovely people. We really liked to private little houses next to the swimming pool. Great location if you have a car. Would recommend to do a boat trip on the lake, eat at La Playita en visit Los Rapidos.

Cute room with very large comfortable bed. AC was very efficient & bathroom with great shower. Very well positioned to everything in Bacalar. Breakfast was delicious too.

Can’t really think of anything negative

The room was exactly as in the pictures and it was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The location is excellent as it is right across the street from the water. The service from all staff was excellent but Inez was incredible. She was non-stop making the stay more comfortable

Very nice breakfast, and adorable crew!

I would just revise the sliding door at the entrance, as it's a bit funky. But the place and stuff is great!

If paradise exists, this place is definitely part of it! After a long day walking around Calakmul and then a long drive getting to Bacalar, we arrived at Zensus. Both exhausted we had the privilage to be welcomed by Ines. She gave us the warmest and sincerest welcome, explained us all about the town and gave the best recommendations. During our stay her and her staff were always there do give you the best holiday experience you ever had. Definitely recommend! It doesn't get better then this...

The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating.

The room was clean however there was a bug in the sheets, and it smelt like sewage.

Comfortable bed, nicely decorated, nice shower

Decent location. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast with numerous options.

Lack or privacy on end room with the shower being next to a wall and a plywood board. Dirty towel. Missing pillowcase. Stuffy snell in room and no bathroom window to ventilate.

Lovely individual rooms around a pleasant pool surrounded by tall trees at the quiet end of Bacalar. Great reception staff who helped with laundry and organising trips, and the room was kept spotlessly clean with daily cleans. Good bed, and quality linen and towels.

Not the best coffee at breakfast time

The staff is so kind and helpful. The rooms and pool is always kept clean.

Unfortunately, the rooms do not have a mini fridge and it felt like the hot water was solar powered because in the mornings it wouldn't warm up. The breakfast is from 8:30 to 10. For us that was a bit late specially when we had to.leave early for activities. While the hotels looks close to the lagoon and is physically not far all access across the street from the hotel is blocked by other hotels and you have to pay for a day pass on order to acces the lagoon near by. The day pass is 450mxn pesos. There are some club muuyal charges 200mxn and can be used towards consumption. It is 16 minute walk though. The free access is downtown 30.minutes walk downtown. They do not provide free bikes or rental of them.

Very well kept gardens and lovely set up of the cabins. The little room was small but super cozy and tidy. Very clean place and good lighting. The aircon was fantastic and the shower with the a little private garden view was a nice treat. The place is in a main road across the lagoon, very accessible and quiet. Walking distance to Maracuya a public lagoon access and a bit of a long walk to town like 20 minutes. The bed was comfy and because they’re little cabins you don’t hear the neighbours. Breakfast was included and it was delicious, they catered for vegan options with no issues. All the staff was amazing, so helpful and kind. We’re definitely coming back any time!

Highly recommend. Sweet hotel with spacious private rooms. A bit out of the main town but easily walkable and plenty to see and do nearby. Staff were very helpful and adaptable; did our laundry washing, changed breakfast times to suit our transport and recommended some great excursions.

I would love to give a higher rating to this hotel but unfortunately I can’t. I’d probably give it a 6 or a 7 if it wasn’t for the incredibly kind and hospitable hosts who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Their welcoming and friendly attitudes were incredibly comforting and put a smile on our faces every day. Sadly, we were left disappointed by most other aspects of the hotel considering the money we paid. For a start, the WiFi stopped working on the second day of our stay and was never repaired until we checked out 4 days later, even though the staff told us it would be fixed no later than the next day. Secondly, our bed sheets were dirty upon arrival and our room had a fairly unpleasant smell. Staff addressed the dirty sheets promptly and tried to resolve the smell but unfortunately it persisted. In general the hotel was tatty and needed a lick of paint and a real freshen up. The pool was aesthetically pleasing and was cleaned daily but unfortunately the canopies of the trees overhead meant it got no sun, so we didn’t use it at all. We’ve been staying in hostels throughout the trip and booked this hotel expecting something a bit more upmarket, but it simply didn’t deliver. Overall we had an enjoyable stay thanks to the brilliant staff, but they have been let down by the owners who need to invest in some refurbishments, better facilities and working WiFi. Given the price of a night’s stay, I think you can probably find better value hotels by staying somewhere with direct access to the lake

Lovely accommodation and good breakfast. Host very helpful and arranged taxis to town and bus station.

It's a bit of a walk into the hub but if you are looking for a place to stay which is reasonable and good quality this is it.

Best breakfast we had in Mexico! The staff was lovely! I liked being in that section of the lake - it was quiet and that's where our sailing trip took off from. It would have been nice to be right on the shore, but Zensus was a great value and I would stay there again if we went back to Bacalar.

    Nada.

In a quiet area, well maintained and clean

Weak internet in the cabañas and shower did not work properly (some days I struggle getting hot water)
