Ella Soul Resort

Perfect location, a few minutes walk to Chill Cafe and main Street, large room, comfortable bed and facilities, nice balcony, nice staff, amazing breakfast.

Good location, a short walk into town but away from the traffic noise (though you do hear music if it plays late at night). Staff was attentive and there was sufficient room for our clothes.

Bathroom plumbing leaked all over the sink and floor. There wasn’t enough room for our toiletries. And we had to run the water forever to get hot water, such a waste. We notified the staff so let’s hope they address it. Also, we had a bad experience at breakfast, with very slow service, menu items not available and poorly cooked eggs.

Excellent hotel with the most amazing breakfast and dinners!! Chef is next level amazing. Beautiful rooftop restaurant. Rooms had nice patios and were spacious. Beds were a bit hard but that is common in Sri Lanka. Perfect walking distance to main ella street but up a steep hill.

Location. It is in interiors and you need to walk a bit in dark to reach the place.

We liked that the property was within easy walking distance of the city. We were able to go to the temple and the 9 arch bridge easily, without a full tour booking, and there were many wonderful restaurants and shops nearby in the city center. We are not shoppers of touristy souvenirs but those that are had big smiles and heavy bags. We enjoyed the comfortable balcony seating area in the room, and the balcony was sheltered from the rain—especially with all the rain from the Ditwah cyclone. The room is comfortable but our favorite thing was the coconut lotion and the cinnamon shampoo. We also wanted to thank the cooks for our very thoughtful treats at the end of our stay. Thank you.

The room was comfortable and beautiful. We liked the balcony! Breakfast was outstanding with so much variety! Option of Sri Lankan breakfast or American . Fresh made juices were delicious! The meals were always served artistically. Service was exceptional! Very peaceful dining room on top of the hotel. We loved watching the sunset with the windows open and flowers surrounding the dining room. It was a great way to wind down! Good tasting food and drinks!

It’s very clean, and food was amazing at the roof top restaurant. Staff kavindu, sandeep and the lady receptionist are amazing.

The staff was exceptional. The manager provided assistance with tours. The restaurant was outstanding. The quality of the meals was superb. Our waiter was very attentive to us and very kind. The restaurant has windows all the way around and provides amazing views. We didn’t want to leave the restaurant because it was so calming.The bed was very comfortable and the entire hotel was very clean.The hotel is within walking distance of the downtown of Ella. The hotel is on an incline but not to difficult for a healthy 70 year old to manage.

Music from a club nearby can be heard all night.

Ella Soul provided an excellent experience during our stay. Our room was both spacious and clean, and we appreciated having a mini fridge to keep our drinks and snacks chilled. The town center is merely a five-minute walk away. The staff was friendly and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile. The upstairs restaurant boasts stunning views of Ella Rock and serves delightful dishes. Little Adam’s Peak and the train station are just a short tuk-tuk ride away. We also enjoyed a picturesque 20-30 minute walk to the Nine Arches Bridge along the train tracks. The location was simply ideal!

The staff were extremely lovely. The room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.

Unfortunately, this property is quite run down. The bathroom particularly needs a lot of work done. I wasn’t fond of the location as the walk in the dark didn’t always feel comfortable.

Property was far enough away from the main road that it was very peaceful. Room was very clean with good A/C. The property has a lovely roof top bar and restaurant with stunning views. The food served was excellent. Loved our stay here

Beautiful rooms very close to the center. Nice garden and friendly employers. Food is very delicious! Rooms are very good although 2 of our 3 rooms had a bad smell in the bathroom.

Our entire stay was lovely - the staff were helpful and efficient, the food was great and very reasonably priced, and we loved the rooftop restaurant, with an amazing view of Ella's Rock, and the facilities. The location is very close too central Ella, and the hotel is surrounded by lush greenery.

We had a wonderful stay at Ella Soul Resort! The room was spacious, cozy, and had an incredible view of the surrounding hills—waking up to that scenery was just magical. The bed was very comfortable, and everything in the room felt thoughtfully arranged.
