Rooms not clean. No shampoo in showers.

We appreciated we were able to get in our room at 10:30 am. Staff was friendly

The construction didn’t bother us. I wanted to give a good rating but the bathroom was horrible. Water leaking from under the sink. Killed two cockroaches in the shower. The bedding needs to be replaced and the towels are falling apart. Luckily we only needed a place to sleep for one night. This accommodation just needs an overhaul. Location is great if you want to be in the heart of town.

The staff was amazing! Super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The location is in the centre of the city and close to many restaurants and stores. We also had breakfast at the hotel if traditional Sri Lankan food which was really good.

Location was perfect! In the heart of the restaurants, shops and chaos but was the perfect amount of chaos for us. Close to the main club in Ella. Splendid stay.

Centrally located on main street. Nice staff. Modern elevator if you have luggage.

✅ Location – The hotel is centrally located, with all major cafes and stores just a 2-minute walk away.✅ The Room – The room was very spacious, with 2 queen beds, making it ideal for a family of 4. It was equipped with a wardrobe, water kettle, and clean towels. The bathroom was also clean and well-maintained.✅ Additional Amenities – The Wi-Fi was reliable, with decent speeds of 30mbps. The TV was functional and offered some local channels. Our room was on a separate floor with a seating area and a view.✅ Room Service – We ordered dinner, and it was delicious. The hotel has a restaurant and bar in the front building, providing convenient dining and drinking options. I had a beer at the bar, which was enjoyable and offered a pleasant view. All major cards are accepted.

- The water supply in the bathroom stopped around 7:45 AM and was not restored until 8:30 AM. I had to contact the staff 3-4 times before the water was finally restored.- The family rooms are located on the 4th floor and are only accessible by stairs from the 3rd floor, which may be a consideration for some guests.

Not much!

Whilst this hotel was position on the main street through Ella, it was highly overrated! The room we had was described as a deluxe double room! It was no more than a shoe box! There was no hair dryer. The cupboard doors were very difficult to open. The shower was useless, hardly any water coming through. It was very noisy until about 1 a.m.

The location is great and the staff is nice.

Nothing seems to be cleaned well and it smells bad. I bought some incense to help make the stay more tolerable. The door lock doesn’t seem safe either, I put my luggage in front of the door to ensure a little extra safety. I checked out a day early.

I had a FANTASTIC time at Spice Ella! Level 1 is for fun and games with a pool table, a small staging area with music, and a TV, while Level 2 is for fine dining and live sports (projector screen) with a live bar. The rooms, comfortable and clean, are slightly removed from the main road and hence peaceful & quiet with only birdsongs waking you up in the morning, ensuring a good night’s sleep. There are wide open spaces around the rooms for walking or sitting, with a rooftop to chill. Their kitchen is easily among the best in town and I had the luxury of being treated to some of their lip-smacking Indian food, which is currently off the menu. Many thanks to Rohan and Akila for their impeccable service & attention to detail, and a special mention to GM Sir who along with his staff went above & beyond to make my stay extra special. I stayed during a cricket world cup and thoroughly enjoyed watching the games here. I will never forget this experience. I can confirm that Spice Ella offers the most complete food, fun, & lodging experience in all of Ella. Thank you, can’t wait to come back!

WiFi was stable but speed can be slightly better and there are small fixes here & there that the team is taking care of in a professional manner, none of which were an issue for me, especially since properties in Ella are high maintenance and go through restoration all the time.

Nothing at all it staying in this place was a nightmare…?

The room that they gave for triple was very small smaller and exactly the room size is two beds. Full of dust everywhere and the most dirtiest bathroom that I have ever seen in my entire life. We never wanted to have a shower in that and decided to stay till morning and checked out early in the morning. They haven’t kept toilet paper at least and didn’t bother of giving even though we requested many times. No A/ cant even breathe inside the room so we kept the door open time to time to get the fresh air in to the room. Only they had kept in the room two coffee and sugar packets. That’s it nothing else. But the triple charge was 80 USD…? this is a horrible place and never recommend to anyone…?

the bedding was dirty, and the bar below was playing music very loudly until 2am. which would then start again at 7am. I dont usually mind some noice but this was REALLY loud

The location was just brilliant, right in the center of ella surrounded with many shops . The staff were very welcoming and tried their best to make us comfortable

it’s filthy, loud, hot, smelly and overpriced. the staff are exceptionally rude and the facilities are disgusting.

there’s so many amazing places to stay in Ella & Sri Lanka more broadly - this is not one of them. avoid!!

Lucky the host made our stay at the Spice Hotel unforgettable. He is a very friendly and amazing person and we are very thankful that we met him on our trip. The whole staff was very nice. He organized a tour to the Hortons Plains Nationalpark for us and took very good care of us the whole stay. He arranged our Bustrip to the next destitution also. It was possible to extend it spontaneously for one night. The location of the hotel is perfect for a stay in Ella. On the opposite of the hotel you can rent a scooter and the whole street it full of great restaurants and bars. Nine Arch and little Adams Peak are very close by.

The rooms kinda clammy and don’t have a air condition, a fan though. The price you pay is for the great location and the best host :)

The staff here was AMAZING. I arrived very late and they were helpful with so many things. They also organised for me to have take away breakfast as I had to leave early. It was such a nice welcome after a long day.

The staff was amazing but the facilities not so much… Some of the rooms smelled a lot and were dirty and the room I finally ended with was very nice but could have been cleaner.
